Study Furniture Design Of Neo-Jin Style

Study furniture is the representative works of Chinese traditional literati furniture.In most cases,it indicates Chinese traditional culture,especially literati thoughts.At the same time,the study furniture from different regions have their own local feature.We can see the regional differences from the remains of Jing style,Su style,Guang style and Jin style.The regional culture features of Jin style furniture are embodied in modeling,materials and structure.Firstly,to realize the appeal of literati aesthetic in the continuation of early traditional style of Song and Yuan in modeling.Secondly,the practicability is also important when pursuing the literati aesthetic,such as the addition of storing space and lock.Thirdly,the thrift and hard work of Shanxi people influenced the design of study furniture which is embodied in the deal with flaws and the sustainable design of furniture.The traditional Jin style study furniture has substantial value to the design of contemporary furniture design.The application of concept of creation and design strategy in contemporary study furniture is contribute to the inheritance and promotion of traditional culture.The concept of Neo-Jin style is based on the above design concept.This thesis aims to explore the design value of traditional Jin style study furniture through the way of document research,case study and analysis method.There are six chapters in the thesis,chapter one summarizes the current study furniture design and research status of traditional furniture,expound the project's source,method and meaning.The second chapter analyzes the influence of farming-reading cultural background on Jin style furniture and the characteristics of the study furniture.The third chapter,based on the analysis and research of the traditional in Jin style study furniture case,discusses the cultural connotation and design significance of Jin style study furniture from the aspects of modeling,structure,material and function.The fourth chapter analyzes the case of modern Chinese style study furniture,expounds the current situation and shortcomings of the new Chinese style study furniture on the existing market,and then explores the design methods and ideas of the new study furniture.In the fifth chapter,based on the exploration of theory and design method in the previous chapters,design the study furniture of two series.
