Research On Brownfield Revitalization In The Process Of Urban Renewal

With the deepening of reform and opening up,the industrialization and urbanization in China are accelerated and has entered the late period of the third industrial revolution pursuing for middle-high quality development.What follows is the transformation of urban land growth mode,gradually changing from incremental expansion to stock renewal and tapping potential.Strengthening urban brownfield land redevelopment is not only a necessary step to implement ecological civilization construction,but also a renewal path to promote urban intensive development.There have been many successful cases of brownfield land governance in China.Thses projects not only redevelop large tracts of barren brownfield land to improve the efficiency of land use,but also play a role in reshaping urban landscape and optimizing living environment,which has been widely recognized by the society.However,the governance of urban brownfield land in China is still in the initial stage,the laws and regulations are not sound,the society has insufficient understanding of the complexity and harmfulness of brownfield land and the governance needs to be strengthened,which makes frequent problems in the redevelopment of brownfield land and difficult to solve.Under the background of urban renewal,this study takes the brownfield land caused by oil industry in Dongying District as the research object,applies social science research methods such as interview research,questionnaire survey and literature review,and uses urban governance and urban management as theoretical support to analyze the brownfield land redevelopment cases in China and foreign countries.This paper also deeply researches the relevant research works and research results,and discusses the causes,government measures and existing problems of brownfield land in Dongying District.At last,it is suggests that Dongying District Government should further improve the governance in terms of planning guidance,institutional mechanism construction,policy improvement,financing channels and public participation.Under the framework of public management theory and combining both theoretical and practical significance,this study helps Dongying District Government optimize the governance system in brownfield land redevelopment,provides reference for brownfield land redevelopment in a wider scope,and promotes the urbanization acceleration and high-quality development.
