Energy saving,emission reduction and green mines are the themes of today’s mining industry.Mining dump trucks play a key role in topsoil stripping and ore transportation in open-pit mines.The steering system is one of its most important systems.The large energy loss of the steering system significantly increases the fuel consumption of the vehicle,and has a greater impact on emissions,and the converted heat energy will reduce the service life of the components and oil in the system.Therefore,research The energy-saving technology of the steering system of mining dump trucks is very necessary.Taking the steering hydraulic system of a mining dump truck with a total mass of90 tons as the research object,the main research contents include:1.The working principles and main structural characteristics of several commonly used steering systems are studied,and the main ways of energy loss of steering systems are analyzed.Based on the load-sensing technology,an energy-saving scheme using load-sensing variable steering system to replace the traditional load-sensing full steering system or constant pressure variable steering system is proposed.The structure and principle of the load-sensitive variable steering system are analyzed emphatically.2.According to the structure and principle of the steering system,AMESim software was used to build simulation models of three steering systems,namely load-sensitive variable steering system,load-sensing full hydraulic steering system and constant pressure variable steering system,and set relevant parameters.3.Aiming at the hydraulic systems of the three steering mechanisms,simulation studies have been made under two typical working conditions,namely,when fully loaded with steering and when not steering(the vehicle is driving in a straight line or in a standby state).The data on flow and pressure characteristics and energy loss are obtained.The effectiveness of the proposed energy-saving scheme for the steering system is verified.4.A certain type of mining dump truck was tested under actual working conditions,and the pressure characteristic data obtained from the experiment was compared with the simulation data to verify the accuracy of the simulation model.Under the set ideal parameter state,the research results show that when the steering wheel is in the neutral position(the vehicle is in a straight line or in a standby state),the load-sensitive variable steering system can reduce the energy loss by about 95%compared with the other two steering systems.Finally,the economic benefits brought by the proposed energy-saving technology are evaluated,which provides a certain reference value for practical application.
