Filament winding is a sort of critical method of composite material manufacturing.Stable composite material products are made by two steps.Firstly,fiber bands made of composite materials are winded on the surface of mandrel with specific shape,secondly the fiber bands covered mandrel will be cured by heating and pressure,Finally,the fiber shell will be polished and becomes the composite product.The existing fiber winding CAD systems are based on semi-geodesic and discrete curves,which have the problems of insufficient degrees of freedom and high cost of open-mold trial winding.Therefore,this paper proposes a hybrid winding method based on equal winding angle curves,which can effectively improve the degree of freedom of fiber line profiles while ensuring that no slippage and bridging occurs during fiber winding.The main work of this paper includes the following.The semi-geodesic winding curve is a curve with fixed slip coefficient,which has more freedom to adjust the path than the geodesic line,but the semi-geodesic line often has no analytical solution and can only be approximated by numerical methods.At the same time,the winding angle of the semi-geodesic line tends to change with the winding position,resulting in unstable mechanical properties of the vessel.Based on the above problems,this paper proposes a new line type on the rotating surface-constant winding angle curve,and gives the discriminative basis that the line type does not slip or bridge.The constant winding angle curve has an analytical solution and the winding angle remains constant,which helps to improve the performance of winding products.Secondly,this paper proposes a hybrid winding method that integrates the geodesic,semi-geodesic and constant winding angle curves,and gives priority to the use of the constant winding angle curve under the condition of no-slip and no-bridging to keep the winding angle of the wire type as constant as possible.The hybrid winding method effectively improves the winding degree of freedom due to the expansion of the selection space of wire type,and can design and produce winding products with better performance.The experimental results show that this method is better than the traditional half-measured ground winding method.Finally,based on the above principles and algorithms,this paper develops a complete CAD system which can design winding wire patterns for common composite products in the industry,with wire pattern calculation,optimization and 3D simulation functions.
