As a mainstay industry supporting the economic development of China, the rapid development in the past ten years has greatly promoted the economic development of our country. At the same time, construction safety production situation is serious.Relevant researches show that safety performance is a personal safety behavior related to organizational safety.A large number of studies have shown that safety performance in high-risk industries is closely related to accidents, casualties, and improving safety performance can reduce safety accidents.Simultaneously, previous researches have shown that work stressors have a positive or negative impact on safety performance. Therefore, specifically in the field of safety,it is urgent to clarify the influence mechanism of safety stressors on safety performance of construction workers.Based on literature analysis, this paper constructs a theoretical model of the impact of safety stressors on safety performance with ego depletion and self efficacy as mediators.Then,400 questionnaires were distributed and 335 were effectively recovered.Spss and Mplus software were used for reliability and validity testing, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling analysis, which verified the rationality of some research hypotheses. The results show that safety stressors have a negative impact on safety performance, causing workers to ego depletion and reduce self efficacy. The results of the intermediary test show that there are three paths to the ego depletion intermediary: 1)safety role conflict → ego depletion → safety participationr;2)interpersonal safety conflict → ego depletion → safety compliance;3)interpersonal safety conflict → ego depletion → safety participation;the self efficacy mediation role is assumed to be a mediation variable in the impact of three safety stressors on safety performance;in the hypothesis test of continuous mediation, only the following three paths exist: 1)safety role conflict → ego depletion → self efficacy →safe participation;2)interpersonal safety conflict → ego depletion → self efficacy →safety compliance;3)interpersonal safety conflict → ego depletion → self efficacy →safe participation. The research results in this paper verify the negative relationship between safety stressors and safety performance, and partially verify the mediating role of ego depletion and self efficacy, explain the safety performance reduction mechanism from a new perspective, enrich the research results of safety performance, and help improve scientific research on safety management. In response to the reality that construction workers are facing a source of safety stressors at the construction site, managers should develop clear safety procedures and implement job safety responsibility training, and regularly hold activities that help improve safety communication among workers.Through the above measures, construction workers are encouraged to reduce the occurrence of safety stressors, reduce the consumption of self-control resources, enhance the self efficacy of construction workers, and improve safety performance.
