| The rapid development of the global economy is also causing the rapid consumption of global resources. The ecological problems caused by emissions from energy consumption are increasing.Greenhouse gases are one of the main emissions from energy consumption.Excessive emissions of greenhouse gases cause the greenhouse effect. It has also strengthened and caused a series of problems such as global warming.Global warming has caused some chain reactions in the global environment, which has caused the global environment to fall into a vicious circle stage. The coordinated development of economic development and ecological environment has become active in all countries in the world.A new path to explore. In the general debate of the75 th United Nations General Assembly, the Chinese government emphasized the green development method and the construction of ecological civilization, and put forward the two goals of orderly achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality, reflecting the Chinese government’s increasing construction The contribution of the ecological civilization environment has continuously promoted the construction of a global governance system.Relying on the Yangtze River, the economic density and industrial agglomeration effect of the Yangtze River Economic Belt are among the top in the country. The Yangtze River Economic Belt has unique comprehensive advantages in raw materials, water, electricity, and water transportation, and it has become the first place for the transfer and agglomeration of petrochemical industries.Under the national policy of“Protection of the Yangtze River”,the petrochemical industry in the Yangtze River Economic Zone is facing the dual pressure of environmental protection, emission reduction and industrial upgrading.Improving industrial carbon emission efficiency is a viable way for the petrochemical industry to seek high-quality development. In this context, this article selects the petrochemical industry in the Yangtze River Economic Zone as the research object, and analyzes the dynamic changes of the petrochemical industry’s carbon emission efficiency in the Yangtze River Economic Zone and the external environmental factors from the perspectives of local spatial and temporal characteristics of the industry and regional differences. The thesis mainly expands from the following three parts:(1)Analysis of changes in the carbon emission efficiency of the petrochemical industry in the Yangtze River Economic Zone.On the basis of reading domestic and foreign literature, this paper takes the carbon emission efficiency of the petrochemical industry in the Yangtze River Economic Zone as the research object.Under the input-output framework, the carbon emission efficiency of the petrochemical industry in the Yangtze River Economic Zone is measured according to the DEA-based non-parametric Malmquist productivity index model. The dynamic changes of the Yangtze River Economic Zone as a whole,as well as the eastern, central and western regions covered by it,and 11 provinces and cities are analyzed for differences. The evaluation results show that the carbon emission efficiency of the petrochemical industry in the Yangtze River Economic Zone is on the rise, which is mainly caused by technological progress. The cumulative growth rate of the carbon emission efficiency of the petrochemical industry in the three major regions of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is the highest in the west, second in the east, and the lowest in the central region.Among them, the eastern and western regions show positive growth, and the central region shows negative growth. The study also found that there are certain differences in the changes in carbon emission efficiency between provinces, and some provinces are heterogeneous in their regions.(2)Analysis of factors affecting changes in the carbon emission efficiency of the petrochemical industry. The fixed effect regression model is used to analyze the impact of five environmental factors, namely industry per capita output value, technological progress, trade openness, industrial structure and energy intensity,on the changes in the carbon emission efficiency of petrochemical industries in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Regression analysis results show that industry per capita output value, industrial structure and energy intensity have a positive impact on carbon emission efficiency changes, while technological progress and trade openness have no significant impact on carbon emission efficiency in the short term.(3)Strategies for improving the carbon emission efficiency of the petrochemical industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. The strategies for improving the carbon emission efficiency of the petrochemical industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt were put forward from the aspects of regional differentiation, the role of environmental factors in carbon emission reduction, green environmental protection technology and the role of urban agglomeration as the center. |
