Research On The Quality Of Social Responsibility Disclosure Of "Zhenhua Heavy Industry" Under The Background Of Environmental Protection Supervision

The quality of corporate social responsibility report has always been the concern of stakeholders and environmental regulators.In recent years,the social responsibility and environmental pollution problems exposed by environmental protection inspectors have focused on the social responsibility of enterprises.In this situation,this thesis discusses the quality of social responsibility disclosure.First of all,on the basis of the existing literature on content analysis,the evaluation system of social responsibility report quality is constructed.Based on the legitimacy theory,enterprises use social responsibility information disclosure to show the public that the operation of enterprises is in line with the social responsibility standards,and enhance their social legal image.Brand reputation is an important factor affecting the environmental information disclosure of enterprises.The improvement of ecological environment establishes a good social image for enterprises,and the willingness of enterprises to disclose social responsibility information will also be strengthened.In the aspect of cost incentive,companies actively participate with announcing their positive social responsibility information in order to build a solid relationship with local government,consequently reduce financial costs.According to theoretical mechanism of environmental protection inspectors,the quality of respnsibility reprt disclousre depend on three major factors:Legality of the business,creditable corporation and enhance cost incentives.Secondly,using the text analysis method,according to the environmental protection inspector exposure and rectification situation,the text analysis of Zhenhua heavy industry is carried out,and the non-compliance of social responsibility report disclosure of Zhenhua heavy industry is found.Then select eight indicators of integrity,substantiality,reliability,readability,comparability,balance,responsiveness and innovation,and use the evaluation system established in this thesis to score Zhenhua heavy industry and other 13 heavy equipment manufacturing listed companies.From the compliance project and voluntary project respectively according to the score with the same industry for comparative analysis.At the same time,the event study method is used to analyze the consequences of environmental supervision criticism on Zhenhua heavy industry.The case study found that:(1)the disclosure of social responsibility will damage the company’s financial interests;(2)Zhenhua heavy industry has serious non-compliance in the disclosure of social responsibility report;(3)The quality of social responsibility report of Zhenhua heavy industry is low;(4)Environmental protection inspectors improve the quality of social responsibility disclosure.To conclude,addressing the issues of disclosure on CSR,three suggestions need to be factored into the schema:(1)Perfect the legislation of social responsibility information disclosure;(2)Improve corporate awareness of social responsibility;(3)Build a reasonable social responsibility report authentication system;(4)Optimize corporate governance structure.
