Research On The Impact Of Value Perception And Social Capital On Farmers’ Behavior Of Domestic Waste Disposition

With the acceleration of urban-rural integration and urbanization,improving the rural living environment is the fundamental prerequisite and important guarantee for the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy and the realization of people’s aspiration for a better life."Garbage surrounding villages,garbage surrounding dams" and other problems seriously affect the rural human living environment,ecological environment and the health of farmers;At the same time,it also seriously hinders the sustainable development of rural economy,such as agricultural industrialization.With the farmers as the main body and the centralized treatment of rural household garbage as the starting point,the continuous improvement of rural living environment will be effectively promoted,so as to realize the reduction of household garbage and the recycling of resources.Based on 387 questionnaires collected from 322 households in 12 villages of 5cities in Hubei Province,this paper analyzed the data,combined with value perception theory and social capital theory to study and analyze the influence of household household waste centralized disposal participation behavior.The results show that:(1)The value perception has a significant effect on the participation of household garbage centralized treatment.The stronger the value perception of household garbage in terms of economic value,ecological value and moral value,the more likely they are to participate in the centralized treatment of household garbage;(2)The interpersonal network,social trust,and village norms in the dimension of social capital significantly improved the level of household garbage centralized disposal,but social trust had no significant effect on the participation of household garbage centralized disposal,indicating that the denser the relationship network and the higher the level of village norms,the more likely households were to participate in the centralized disposal of household garbage.(3)The education level and whether the party member has a positive impact on farmers’ participation in MSW centralized treatment.Therefore,in order to improve the level of centralized disposal of domestic garbage in rural areas and build a beautiful and livable new countryside,it is necessary to broaden the relationship network and build a communication platform for centralized disposal of domestic garbage.Improve the village norms and strengthen the role of village rules and conventions;Expand the public space and strengthen the peasant household’s village identity;Implement appropriate economic stimulus policies to improve the value perception level of farmers.
