Objective: To observe the effect of dexamethasone injection at Neiguan point at different time points on postoperative nausea and vomiting(PONV)in patients undergoing gynecological laparoscopic surgery. Methods: 60 patients undergoing gynecological laparoscopic surgery were randomly divided into three groups by envelope method,with20 cases in each group.Group A(pre-anesthesia group)received Dexamethasone 5mg Neiguan acupoint injection immediately after entering the operating room;Group B(post-anesthesia group)received dexamethasone 5mg Neiguan acupoint injection after endotracheal intubation by anesthesiologists, before the surgeon disinfected and spread the towel.Group C(after extubation)patients were sent to the post-anesthesia care unit after surgery, and dexamethasone 5mg Neiguan acupoint injection was given after the tracheal catheter was removed. The incidence and severity of PONV within 24 h(It was divided into three time periods: 0-6 h,6-12 h and 12-24 h)after operation were recorded in the three groups. Results: The P values of the incidence of PONV within 0-6h and 12-24 h after surgery in the three groups were 0.074 and 0.596 respectively, and the P values of the severity of PONV within two time periods in the three groups were 0.107 and 0.816 respectively, with P > 0.05 for both groups, showing no statistical significance. The P value of the incidence of PONV 6-12 hours after surgery in the three groups was 0.004,and the P value of the severity of PONV was 0.028,P < 0.05,the difference was statistically significant.Further pairwise comparison among the three groups showed that6-12 h after surgery, compared with group B,the P values of the incidence of PONV in group A and group C was 0.010 and 0.003 respectively.Compared with group B,the P values of the severity of PONV in group A and group C was 0.037 and 0.013 respectively, with P < 0.05,indicating a statistically significant difference. However, group A compared with group C,the P value of the incidence of PONV was 0.677,and the P value of the severity of PONV was 0.687,with both P > 0.05,showing no statistical significance. Conclusion: Dexamethasone injection at Neiguan point before anesthesia or after tracheal catheter removal can better reduce the incidence and severity of postoperative nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing gynecological laparoscopic surgery.
