Nowadays,people pay more attention to efficiency in doing things,but the phenomenon of too many people in line is common in our daily life,such as eating in the restaurants,borrowing books in the library,waiting for the bus at the station,buying tickets at the ticket office,and seeing a doctor in the hospital.In the above questions,the waiter and the customer,the librarian and the borrower,the taxi driver and the passenger,the ticket seller and the ticket buyer,the doctor and the patient constitute a queuing system respectively.When we are going to the hospital,we hope to reduce the time spent in queuing and use time more efficiently.Therefore,it is particularly important to improve the service efficiency of the queuing system and optimize the configuration of the queuing system.This thesis considers how to improve the efficiency of the queuing system in the hospital so as to reduce the waiting time of patients.This thesis first studies the relevant applications of queuing theory used in hospitals and relevant literatures at home and abroad in recent years.Matlab is used to simulate the arrival times and the treatment times of patients.According to the time difference,we can get the time interval between the patient arrives and study it under different queuing methods,evaluate different queuing methods through indicators such as waiting time and sojourn time.Finally,we study the performance(waiting time and sojourn time)of M/M/1and M/M/c.Then we collect data from the pediatrics department of Hospital B to get the arrival times and the treatment times.The distribution of arrival times in different departments is divided into two situations.Then we check the collected data and analyze the data according to the related theories of queuing theory.When the arrival times of patients obeys the homogeneous Poisson distribution and the treatment times conforms to the exponential distribution.Comparing the waiting time,sojourn time,doctor’s idle rate and other indicators of the queuing system under different queues,we can get a more efficient queuing method;Taking it into account that the emergency department and other departments is difficult to get data,and the distribution of the patient arrivals is not stable,so we use Monte Carlo method to simulate the arrival data,characterize the average arrival rate of patients in each time period,analyze the arrival rate by time periods,and we use different plans to treat the patients at different time periods.Through the research,a better queuing method is obtained.At this time,the queuing efficiency of the queuing system is higher,and the waiting time is shorter,due to the large gap in the number of arriving patients at different times,the effect of using different methods at different times to treat patients is better.It is concluded that adding a doctor during the peak period of patient arrival can effectively alleviate the congestion in the outpatient department.Finally,summarize and generalize the main work of this article,and put forward the shortcomings and prospects of this article.
