| Objective: To assess the effects of proximal femoral locking compression plate(PF-LCP)on intertrochanteric fractures of the femur,and to summarize the clinical experience.Methods: A retrospective study was performed on 63 patients with intertrochanteric fracture of femur treated with PF-LCP from July 2017 to July 2020 in the 4th Ward of Department of Orthopedics,Second Hospital of Lanzhou University.Meanwhile,51 patients with intertrochanteric fracture of femur treated with PFNA from July 2017 to July 2020 in this ward were selected as the control group.The two groups of operative time,intraoperative blood loss,postoperative drainage volume,number of intraoperative fluoroscopy,hospital stay,incidence of postoperative complications and recovery rate were statistically analyzed to evaluate the therapeutic effect of PF-LCP comprehensively in the treatment of intertrochanteric fracture comprehensivelyd.Result: The operation time,intraoperative dominant blood loss,postoperative drainage,total dominant blood loss and length of hospital stay of PF-LCP group were significantly greater than these of PFNA group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);While the hidden blood loss,total blood loss and intraoperative fluoroscopy times of PF-LCP group were significantly lower than these of PFNA group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);The fracture healing time,incidence of postoperative complications and postoperative cure rate were similar between the two groups,and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05);The Harris score and excellent/good rate of PF-LCP group at 3and 6 months after operation were significantly lower than those of PFNA group at the same time,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);Twelve months after surgery,Harris score and excellent/good rate of PF-LCP group were still lower than those of PFNA group,but the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion: Both PF-LCP and PFNA are feasible methods for the treatment of intertrochanteric fractures of femur.Taken together,PFNA remains the preferred treatment for intertrochanteric fractures of the femur.PF-LCP can obtain satisfactory results,having necessary clinical value with appropriate methods and biological techniques.PF-LCP is a feasible and important complementary option for the treatment of intertrochanteric fracture of femur. |
