Objective:The purpose of this study is to observe the safety and effectiveness of kneading and push manipulation of Pingle in the treatment of Neck Type of Cervical Spondylosis(NTCS),and to provide a theoretical basis for its clinical application and promotion. Methods:Patients with Neck type of cervical spondylosis, who were treated in the outpatient department of the Department of Orthopaedics,Henan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2018 to December 2018 were selected.60 patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided according to the order of treatment. The treatment group and the control group: The kneading and push manipulation of Pingle group(30 people)and the conventional treatment group(30people).The treatment group was treated with kneading and push manipulation of Pingle, and the control group was treated with conventional treatment. Both groups were treated once a day for 30 minutes each time, and 10 days was a course of treatment. The treatment results were measured before the start of treatment and after one course of treatment.Recording the the neck disability index(NDI)scores, tenderness threshold value of neck, and the median frequency(MF)value of the surface electromyography.evaluating the clinical efficacy,After one course of treatment.Using statistical methods to analyze the obtained datas to evaluate the therapeutic effects of the two groups. Results:All patients completed the treatment and efficacy evaluation, and there were no unsafe events leading to patient injury in this trial. Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in general information,NDI scores, cervical tenderness threshold and MF value of a total of 60 patients(P >0.05),indicating that the two groups were comparable. The NDI scores of both groups decreased, the neck tenderness threshold value and the MF value increased, after treatment. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The results showed that function of neck and muscle fatigue wereimproved, the neck pain was alleviated and tenderness threshold was improved in both groups. After treatment, the NDI scores, neck tenderness threshold value, and the MF values of the treatment group and the control group were statistically significant(P<0.05),proved that kneading and push manipulation of Pingle was superior to the conventional manipulation in improving the neck function and muscle fatigue, relieving the neck pain and increasing the tenderness threshold. The total effective rates was 100% in both the treatment group and the control group, indicating that the kneading and push manipulation of Pingle and conventional manipulation both were effective in treating cervical cervical spondylosis, but Nonparametric test with two independent samples showed that the effect of treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05),The difference was statistically significant. Conclusion:The kneading and push manipulation of Pingle is effective in treating NTCS.It can improve neck dysfunction and muscle fatigue in patients with NTCS effectively, relieve neck pain and increase neck muscle tenderness threshold. The kneading and push manipulation of Pingle is a safe and effective treatment for NTCS.It can be applied and promoted in clinical practice.
