Objective:To observe the clinical effect of warm needling moxibustion at back-shu point on senile constipation of spleen and kidney yang deficiency syndrome. Methods:Sixty patients meeting the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group, with 30 patients in each group. Both groups were treated with double Pishu(BL 20),Shenshu(BL 23),Dachangshu(BL 25),Tianshu(ST 25),Shangjuxu(ST 37),Zhigou(TE 6)and Zhaohai(KI 6).The control group received ordinary acupuncture treatment, and the treatment group received warm needling moxibustion at double Pishu(BL 20)and Shenshu(BL 23)on the basis of acupuncture. The two groups received treatment once every other day, three times for a course of treatment, and two days’ rest between the courses of treatment for a total of four courses of treatment. After 4 courses of treatment, compared and analyzed the TCM syndrome score,Spontaneous Complete Bowel Movements(SCBM),the score of Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life(PAC-QOL)and clinical efficacy.Results:Intra-group comparison showed that there were significant differences in scores between the two groups after treatment and before treatment(P<0.05).Comparison between the groups showed that,in terms of TCM syndrome score, after treatment, the total TCM syndrome score and the score of secondary items in the treatment group were lower than that in the control group, with significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, there was no significant difference in the scores of major items between the two groups(P>0.05).In terms of the SCBM,there was no significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05).In terms of PAC-QOL score, after treatment, the score of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group, with significant difference(P<0.05).In terms of clinical efficacy, the total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.33%,higher than that of the control group(83.33%),and there was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).No adverse events occurred in either group during the studyConclusion:Both the warm needling moxibustion at back-shu point and the acupuncture have good therapeutic effects on senile constipation with Yang deficiency of spleen and kidney.Warm needling moxibustion at back-shu point is better than acupuncture in the overall efficacy, improvement of TCM syndromes and improvement of patients’ quality of life, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
