| ObjectiveTo observe the clinical symptoms and pain score of patients with primary dysmenorrhea treated by Root-tip Points Association Acupuncture, and evaluate its clinical efficacy,so as to provide clinical basis for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea by Root-tip Points Association Acupuncture.MethodsIt was a randomized, single blind control trial,120 patients who met the diagnostic criteria of primary dysmenorrhea were randomly assigned to the root-tip points association acupuncture group and routine acupuncture group, with 60 cases in each group. The root-tip points association acupuncture group was treated with the method of the root-tip points association acupuncture,The main points of root-tip points association acupuncture group were Zusanli(bilateral),Guanyuan,Shenshu(bilateral),Pishu(bilateral),Zhongji,Sanyinjiao(bilateral),Shiqizhui,Ciliao(bilateral),Diji(bilateral)and the routine acupuncture group was treated with routine acupuncture,The main points of the routine acupuncture group were Zhongji,Sanyinjiao(bilateral),Shiqizhui,Ciliao(bilateral),Diji(bilateral). All of which were treated for 5 days consecutively in the week before menstruation, acupuncture five times per menstrual cycle, one time per day.The needle was retained for 30 min, during which the needle was lifted and inserted evenly with a small amplitude and rotated 3 times every 10 minutes.After3 consecutive menstrual cycles, the patients were followed up for3 months.Observe symptoms before and after treatment, the duration of each symptom in CMSS,the total duration of each symptom in CMSS,the severity of each symptom in CMSS,the total severity of each symptom in CMSS,the visual analogue scale(VAS)were recorded and evaluated.Results1.There was no statistically differences in age, menarche age, menstrual cycle, duration of menstruation,CMSS score,VAS score between the two groups at baseline(p>0.05).There was a comparability between the two groups.2.CMSS score :In the baseline period, there was no significant difference in the CMSS scale between the root-tip points association acupuncture group and the routine acupuncture group(P>0.05).In the 3 menstrual cycles after the root-tip points association acupuncture treatment, there were significant changes in the items of discomfort such as small abdominal pain and nausea compared with the baseline period, with statistical significance(P<0.05).There was no statistical significance in the changes of discomfort such as headache and vertigo compared with the baseline period(P>0.05).After the intervention, during the follow-up period of subjects, the comparison between the the root-tip points association acupuncture group and the routine acupuncture group showed that the root-tip points association acupuncture group could significantly improve the above adverse symptoms, reducing the occurrence and maintenance time, with statistical significance(P<0.05).3.VAS score: Before intervention, there was no significant difference in VAS scores between the root-tip points association acupuncture group and the routine acupuncture group(P>0.05).After three menstrual cycles of intervention, the VAS scores of the root-tip points association acupuncture group and the routine acupuncture group changed significantly compared to the baseline period, with statistical significance(P<0.05).The relative ratio of the root-tip points association acupuncture group and the routine acupuncture group showed no significant change, with no statistical significance(P>0.05).After the intervention, during the follow-up period, the VAS score of the root-tip points association acupuncture group was significantly reduced compared with the baseline period, with statistical significance(P<0.05),while there was no significant difference in the routine acupuncture group(P>0.05).ConclusionThe root-tip points association acupuncture group and the routine acupuncture group have obvious clinical efficacy in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea, but the clinical efficacy of the root-tip points association acupuncture group is better than the routine acupuncture group. |
