Clinical Observation Of Wenyang Qutong Powder In The Treatment Of Cold-damp Obstruction Type Of Knee Osteoarthritis(early And Middle Stage)

Objective:By observing the efficacy of Wenyang Qutong powder combined with western medicine in the treatment of cold-damp obstruction type of knee osteoarthritis(early and middle stage),in order to provide a new method for the treatment of the disease.Methods:In this study,62 patients with knee osteoarthritis(early and middle stage)were randomly divided into observation group(31 cases)and control group(31 cases).The control group was given routine western medicine treatment;the observation group was given Wenyang Qutong powder on the basis of the control group.The treatment course was 3 weeks.The VAS score,WOMAC Osteoarthritis Index and TCM syndrome score were recorded before and after treatment.The clinical efficacy was evaluated through scientific statistics.Result:After the treatment,the VAS score,WOMAC score and TCM symptom score of the two groups were decreased,the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);compared with the control group,the VAS score,WOMAC score and TCM symptom score of the observation group were decreased more significantly,the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05)。Conclusion:Both of methods can relieve pain symptoms and improve knee joint function to a certain extent,but the external application of traditional Chinese medicine treatment group has more advantages in relieving pain and improving TCM symptoms,which is worthy of clinical promotion.
