The Impact Of Medical Service Accessibility On Disability Of Rural Elderly

One of the big challenges for health in the future will be how to deal with it,the 2021 said in its report on the Sixth National Survey of Health Services Statistics,released on January 28.China has entered a period of rapid aging,with the growth of age,the gradual decline of the physical function of the elderly led to the number of disabled elderly climbing.Medical Support and care services in rural areas are relatively backward,understanding the impact of medical services on the disability of the elderly in rural areas,and proposing more effective ways to improve the accessibility of medical services in rural areas,it is of great significance to reduce the disability of the aged.Based on the data of CLHLS in 2018,this paper analyzed the status of disability in the rural elderly,and analyzed the influence mechanism of medical service accessibility on disability in the rural elderly,forming a hypothesis.Medical service accessibility is measured by four indexes: geographical accessibility,economic accessibility,time accessibility and supply accessibility.The disability of the elderly is measured by the loss of self-care ability,the limitation of life ability and the cognitive impairment.The IV-oprobit model was constructed to evaluate the impact of Health Service Accessibility on disability status of rural elderly.The study found:(1)The closer the geographical accessibility of medical service is,the more helpful it is to relieve the disability of the elderly.It has a significant effect on the disability of the elderly over 85 years old in the eastern and central regions,and on the cognitive impairment of the female elderly.(2)The stronger the economic accessibility of medical services,the better the ability performance of the elderly,and the more able to alleviate the disability of the elderly in the central region,men,aged between 76 and 85.(3)The stronger the accessibility of medical service time,that is,the more timely they can get medical treatment when they are sick,and the more they can prevent the further deepening of disability of the elderly.It has a significant impact on all the elderly.(4)The more accessible the medical service is,the more helpful it is to alleviate the disability of the elderly.The elderly who provide medical service in community have better cognitive ability.
