Clinical Study On Tianma Xifeng Decoction In The Treatment Of Alopecia Areata With Liver And Kidney Deficiency

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of Tianma Xifeng Decoction in the treatment of alopecia areata with liver and kidney deficiency,and evaluate its effectiveness,safety and recurrence,so as to provide new treatment ideas and methods for patients with liver and kidney deficiency alopecia areata.MethodsIn this study,72 patients with liver and kidney deficiency alopecia areata were randomly divided into experimental group and control group,36 cases in each group.The experimental group was given Tianma Xifeng Decoction(Tianma 10g,Gouteng 10gg shijueming 20g,Fuling 15g,shouwuteng 15g,dandelion 20g,Huangqin 10g,Achyranthes bidentata 10g,Eclipta chinensis 10g,Atractylodes macrocephala 15g,Chenpi 10g,Danshen 15g,Gancao 5g)and compound Buguzhi tincture for external use,while the control group was given compound Buguzhi tincture for external use only.Four weeks for a course of treatment,a total of 12 weeks,12 weeks of follow-up,statistical data before and after treatment,according to the patient’s skin lesions hair growth,TCM symptoms,quality of life improvement,incidence of adverse reactions,recurrence of clinical efficacy.Results(1)After treatment,65 cases were recovered,including 33 cases in the experimental group and 32 cases in the control group.(2)Baseline comparison:There was no significant difference in gender,age,course of disease and disease stage between the two groups(P>0.05),which was not statistically significant and comparable.(3)The curative effect was compared:1.The growth of skin lesions and hair:①Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the scores of skin lesions and hair between the two groups(P>0.05);after treatment,the scores of skin lesions and hair in the two groups were decreased compared with before treatment(P<0.01),and the decrease rate in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05);②The total effective rate of skin lesions and hair in the experimental group was 81.82%,and that in the control group was 59.38%The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.Improvement of TCM syndromes:①there was no significant difference in TCM syndrome score between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05);after treatment,the score of TCM syndromes in the two groups decreased significantly compared with that before treatment(P<0.01),and the decrease of experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.01);②the more obvious rate of TCM syndrome in experimental group was 69.79%,and the rate of control group was 12.50%,which was tested,The curative effect of the two groups was significantly different(P<0.01).3.Improvement of quality of life:there was no significant difference in quality of life score between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05);after treatment,the scores of quality of life of the two groups were lower than before treatment(P<0.01),and the decrease of experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.01).4.Incidence of adverse reactions:the incidence of adverse reactions in experimental group was 6.06%,and that of control group was 9.38%.After Fisher chi square test(P>0.05),the difference between the two groups was not obvious.5.Recurrence:after the treatment,follow-up was conducted for 3 months.No recurren ceoccurred in the experimental group,and 6 cases in the control group had repeated skin lesions.The recurrence of the experimental group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05).ConclusionTianma Xifeng Decoction in the treatment of alopecia areata with liver and kidney deficiency can significantly improve the growth of skin lesions and hair,TCM syndromes and quality of life.The curative effect of Tianma Xifeng decoction combined with external compound Buguzhi tincture is significantly better than that of external compound Buguzhi tincture alone,with high safety and low recurrence rate,indicating that Tianma Xifeng decoction is suitable for the treatment of alopecia areata with liver and kidney deficiency.
