Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Knee Osteoarthritis Synovitis By Kuanjin XuXi Decoction

ObjectiveAccording to the long-term clinical practice,Professor Qiu Qingzhong,a professor of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine,a famous traditional Chinese medicine in Foshan City,summarizing his experience in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis based on the syndrome differentiation of liver,kidney and spleen,created the Kuanjin XuXi Decoction to treat knee osteoarthritis synovitis,and achieved good clinical effect.In order to provide a reference for the treatment of this disease,this study will explore the clinical efficacy of knee osteoarthritis synovitis of the wind cold dampness type,evaluate its clinical practicability,and provide a reference for the establishment of standardized treatment of this disease.MethodsA total of 70 patients with knee osteoarthritis synovitis were randomly divided into two groups(35 cases each).The treatment group was treated with Kuanjin XuXi Decoction for fumigation therapy,and the control group was treated with diclofenac diethylamine emulsion for external use.The course of treatment was 2 weeks.Visual analogue pain score(VAS),knee circumference,Lysholm knee function score,C-reactive protein(CRP)in blood,and the TCM syndrome score were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.The basic information and related scoring data of the two groups of patients were statistically analyzed,to evaluate the clinical effect of Kuanjin XuXi Decoction on knee osteoarthritis synovitis of the wind cold dampness type.Results1.Among the 35 patients in the treatment group,the clinical efficacy was as follows:3 patients were invalid,21 patients were effective,10 patients were markedly effective and 1 patients were controlled.The total effective rate was 91.43%.Diclofenac diethylamine emulsion for external use group of 35 patients,the clinical efficacy was as follows:19 patients were invalid,18 patients were effective,1 patients were effective and none of them was controlled.And its total effective rate of the control group was 54.28%.There was a statistically significant in clinical efficacy between the two groups(P<0.05),and the efficacy of the treatment group was better than that of the control group.2.The comparison of VAS,knee circumference,Lysholm knee function score,CRP,and the TCM syndrome score before and after treatment were statistically significant(P<0.05).It shows that the Kuanjin XuXi Decoction for fumigation therapy and Diclofenac diethylamine emulsion for external therapy have obvious curative effect on knee osteoarthritis synovitis,which can relieve joint pain caused by knee osteoarthritis synovitis,reduce knee swelling and improve range of motion.3.The comparison of VAS between two groups after treatment(P>0.05),indicated that Kuanjin XuXi Decoction for fumigation therapy,compared with diclofenac diethylamine emuLsion,had no significant advantage in pain relief of knee osteoarthritis synovitis.And the comparison of knee circumference,Lysholm knee function score,CRP,and the TCM syndrome score between two groups after treatment(P<0.05),indicated that Kuanjin XuXi Decoction for fumigation therapy had excellent effect on joint activity,inflammatory level and clinical total effect in patients with knee osteoarthritis synovitis of the wind cold dampness type.And no obvious adverse reactions occurred in the two groups during the course of treatment.ConclusionThe Kuanjin XuXi Decoction for fumigation therapy has a significant effect in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis synovitis of the wind cold dampness type,which can significantly relieve pain,reduce swelling,improve joint activity and reduce the level of Creactive protein inflammation,without obvious adverse reactions.It provides a safe,effective,economical and simple treatment scheme for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis synovitis,which is worthy of clinical application.
