Comprehensive Measurement And Influencing Factors Of Elderly Population Health In China

With the aging of the population becoming more and more serious,the health level of the elderly population and the determinants of the elderly health have become the focus of people’s attention.However,in previous studies on the evaluation of the health level of the elderly population and the influencing factors,some were represented by subjective self-assessment,and some were represented by weighted composite index by grading scores of numerous subdivided indicators in the objective scale.On the one hand,there are great differences between the elderly’s self-perception and objective performance of physical health.On the other hand,the relation between subjective self-evaluation and objective performance is seriously not considered in the weight determination of weighted synthesis,which makes the composite index unable to accurately reflect the health status of the elderly.At the same time,the differences between subjective and objective health will lead to bias in health management,family care needs,and social policies for aging.To this end,this paper used data from 2018 CLHLS.Firstly,the subjective health indicators of the elderly were taken as the reference explanatory variable,and the objective health indicators were taken as the explanatory variable.The weight was obtained by regression,and then the comprehensive health index of the elderly was constructed from the objective indicators.Secondly,the three dimensions of personal characteristics,socio-economic characteristics and family characteristics were taken as the important factors affecting the comprehensive health level of the elderly,and an ordered Logistic regression model was established for testing and analysis.The results showed that :(1)There is deviation between subjective self-rated health and objective health scales,while the comprehensive health index can reflect the actual health status of the elderly population more truly and comprehensively.(2)Regular exercise,good economic status and harmonious family relations are conducive to the overall health level of the elderly population in China.(3)Through the heterogeneity analysis,it is found that the comprehensive health level of the elderly also has the difference over time.Through the measurement of the comprehensive health level of the elderly population,the analysis of influencing factors and the analysis of intergenerational differences,the corresponding health management measures should be implemented according to the intergenerational differences and the health cultivation law of the whole life cycle in promoting and realizing the active healthy aging.In other words,health education should be carried out at an early stage to help the public form healthy habits;In the medium term,we will guide the accumulation of wealth and create a good family atmosphere,and relevant departments will issue policies to improve the coverage of all kinds of security,so as to be prepared for any emergencies.Individuals in the old age should correctly understand their own health status,and constantly improve the comprehensive health level.
