Purpose: Explore the Effect of Fusion Training on Fusion function after Intermittent Exotropia SurgeryMethods:32 patients with intermittent exotropia who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups at Shantou University·Hong Kong Chinese University Joint Shantou International Eye Center from June 2016 to March 2019.In the first group,17 patients were treated with surgery only;in the second group,15 patients were treated with the integrated card fusion training after surgery.The fusion field at 5 meters was measured before surgery,one week after surgery,one month after surgery and two months after surgery by using the strip prism and the synoptophore.Finally we collected data and dealt with statistics.Results: Our study included 32 patients with an average age of 12.56±5.03 years.By using the synoptophore,the break point and recovery point of fusion convergence at 5 meters were6.67±11.19 PD and 3.93±6.97 PD before surgery,respectively,the break point and recovery point of fusion separation at 5 meters were 1.48±2.61 PD and 1.36±2.99 PD before surgery.By using the strip prism,the break point and recovery point of fusion convergence at 5 meters were5.97±9.99 PD and 3.78±6.70 PD before surgery,respectively,the break point and recovery point of fusion separation at 5 meters were 1.93±3.31 PD and 1.19±2.24 PD before surgery.There was no significant difference between the training group and the control group in the break point and recovery point of fusion convergence and fusion separation at 5m before surgery(P > 0.05).There was no significant difference between the training group and the control group in the recovery point of fusion convergence at 5 m before surgery(P > 0.05).There were statistically significant differences between the training group and the control group in the break point and recovery point of fusion convergence and fusion separation at 5 m at 1week,1 month and 2 months after surgery(P < 0.05).Conclusions: Fusion training after surgery is beneficial to the recovery of the break point and recovery point of fusion convergence and fusion separation of patients with intermittent exotropia,which is helpful to better guide the treatment of patient.The fusion field of intermittent exotropia is smaller than that of normal people,or missing.The fusion function is damaged in part.
