Objective: To discuss the value of the application of 3D printing technology and artificial intelligence software in the preoperative planning of total hip replacement surgery,and compare the advantages and disadvantages of them.Methods: 52 patients with unilateral primary THA between December 2018 and December 2020 were enrolled and divided into three groups.There are 12 patients in the 3D-printing group,20 patients in the AI group,and 12 patients in the traditional acetate templating group(the control group),There is no significant difference in the general data among the three groups(P>0.05).The operations were performed by the physicians in the same treatment group.The operation time,intraoperative blood loss,acetabular abduction and anteversion,Harris score after six months,planning time and planning accuracy were compared between the three groups of patients.Results: Both the 3D printing group and the AI group are better than the control group(P<0.05),In the comparison between the two experimental groups,the 3D printing group has shorter operation time,less bleeding,and higher planning accuracy(P<0.05),And the AI has shorter planning time(P<0.05) as well as the advantage of low cost,There is no significant difference between the two experimental groups in postoperative Harris score,abduction angle,and anteversion angle(P>0.05)No postoperative infection or prosthesis loosening occurred in the three groups of patients.Conclusion: Although the 3D printing technology and artificial intelligence technology have their own advantages and disadvantages,they all have high clinical value.In the face of more complex hip joint lesions,the more intuitive and accurate planning method of 3D printing should be more advantageous,while for general hip replacement,the time-consuming and low-cost AIHIP software can be selected.Both of them have broad prospects and development potential for the individual precision of total hip replacement.
