ObjectiveThe study uses modern mathematical analysis methods combined with modern statistics and computer technology to analyze the general conditions, syndrome types, symptoms, and drugs of diarrhea in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and discuss the etiology of diarrhea from the perspective of prescriptions. To summarize the rules of medication for diarrhea during the Ming and Qing Dynasties,in order to provide reference for modern clinical diagnosis and treatment of symptoms and signs, and to provide literature references for clinical diagnosis and treatment of diarrhea.MethodsBy searching electronic databases, electronic publications and books and periodicals in our university library, collecting medical records of diarrhea in Ming and Qing dynasties, sorting out the causes, symptoms, syndromes and prescriptions of medical records and standardizing the data, making rational use of the analysis functions of the ancient and modern medical case cloud platform and SPSS Statistics 25 to performing frequency analysis, correlation analysis, cluster analysis, factor analysis, combined with theoretical analysis, this paper summarizes the symptoms, syndromes, prescriptions and the relationship between diarrhea in Ming and Qing dynasties.Results1.The medical records included.A total of 529 medical records,447 patients, and 529 effective prescriptions were collected;55 physicians were involved, including 17 physicians in the Ming Dynasty and 38 physicians in the Qing Dynasty, involving 59 medical books.2.The basic situation of medical records.(1)Gender statistics.Of the 529 medical records,274 did not clearly record the gender of the patient, and 255 clearly recorded the gender of the patient, including 152 male patients and 103 female patients.(2)Age statistics.Of the 529 medical records,400 did not clearly record the patient’s age,and 129 clearly recorded the patient’s age.In medical records with specific ages, the age distribution of patients involves all age groups, and the incidence of diarrhea is the highest in the age group of 0-9 years.(3)Incentive statistics.529 medical records of diarrhea during the Ming and Qing Dynasties recorded 102 triggers for the onset of disease. In descending order of frequency, they were diet, physical weakness, exosensory, pregnancy or postpartum, exosensory and diet, emotion, physical weakness and exosensory, mistreatment history, emotion and exosensory.3.Symptom analysis.(1)Basic information.Diarrhea is the main disease of diarrhea, the statistics show that the common accompanying symptoms are abdominal distension, abdominal pain, anorexia, body heat,vomiting,urine,swelling,cough,etc.(2)Cluster analysis. The results were divided into6 categories :1 diarrhea,2 abdominal distension,3 abdominal pain,4anorexia,5 vomiting, body heat,6 urine, swelling and cough.4.Dialectical situation analysis. In the frequency statistics of syndrome differentiation,spleen-qi deficiency syndrome is the most common, followed by intestinal damp-heat syndrome,cold-dampness trapping spleen syndrome, and liver-qi stagnation syndrome; The top 7 high-frequency syndrome types include kidney-yang deficiency syndrome,spleen-qi deficiency syndrome+spleen-yang deficiency syndrome, food stagnation gastrointestinal syndrome.5.Analysis of medication rules.(1)General situation of Chinese medicine.Included 529 medical records,529 effective prescriptions, involving 234 kinds of Chinese medicines, the total frequency of Chinese medicines was 4827.Poria and tangerine peel are the most frequently used.(2)Four-gas statistics. The top four in the four-gas frequency are mild, flat, lukewarm, and cold.Among them, mild and flat drugs account for the largest proportion, with a cumulative frequency of 60.38%.(3)Five flavor statistics. The statistical frequency of medicine taste in descending order is sweet, pungent, bitter, light, sour, slightly bitter, astringent, slightly sweet, salty, slightly sour, slightly pungent, and warm.Among them, sweet and pungent are dominant, with a cumulative frequency of 57.68%.(4)Return statistics. The first four high-frequency channels in the distribution of medications were the spleen, lung, stomach, and kidney channels. The cumulative percentage of the four was 72.22%.(5)Drug classification statistics.According to the method of Chinese medicine classification, the frequency of 4827 Chinese medicines can be counted. It can be concluded that the first five types of high-frequency medicines are tonic drugs, diuresis and dampness drugs,qi-regulating drugs, dampnessreducing drugs, and anti-surface drugs.and the accumulative frequency is64.97%.(6)Correlation analysis of Chinese medicine and Chinese medicine. The top 10 drug combinations with the highest frequency of co-occurrence are tangerine peel, poria, poria, tangerine peel, atractylodes, poria, poria, atractylodes, atractylodes, tangerine peel, tangerine peel, atractylodes, licorice, poria, atractylodes, licorice, licorice, atractylodes, licorice, tangerine peel It can be seen that the medication is mainly centered on the combination of core drugs tangerine peel, poria, atractylodes, and licorice.(7)Correlation analysis between traditional Chinese medicine and syndrome types. The spleen deficiency syndrome has a higher frequency of co-occurrence with poria, atractylodes, tangerine peel, licorice, and ginseng. In addition, the syndrome of cold and dampness trapping the spleen and the intestinal damp-heat syndrome are strongly correlated with poria and tangerine peel.(8)Correlation Analysis of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Symptoms.Common symptoms of diarrhea in the Ming and Qing Dynasties: diarrhea, abdominal distension, abdominal pain, obsessive appetite, oliguria, body heat, edema, vomiting, high frequency of co-occurrence,and strong correlation of traditional Chinese medicines are mainly combined with poria, tangerine peel, and atractylodes.(9)Cluster analysis.Extract 13 classification results: Class 1: nutmeg, psoralen, schisandra, evodia, cuscuta;Class 2: rehmannia, dogwood, yam, aconite, cinnamon, plantago;Class 3: dried Ginger;Class 4: nootropic;Class 5: bupleurum, cohosh, astragalus, angelica, ginger, jujube, atractylodes, licorice, ginseng;Class 6: papaya, ebony, coptis, scutellaria, white peony;Class 7: white lentils, lotus seeds, amomum, coix seed;Class 8: tangerine peel, pinellia, poria;Class 9: alisma, polyporus, atractylodes, cassia twig;Class 10: hawthorn, malt, divine comedy;Class11: parsnips;Class 12: potbelly bark, cyperus rotundus, grain bud;Class13 : magnolia, agastache, talc, woody, citrus aurantium.(10)Factor analysis. The combination of extracted common factors is as follows:F1:astragalus,ginseng,atractylodes,cohosh,angelica,jujube,licorice,yam,dogwood,rehmannia,aconite,psoralen,schisandra,nutmeg;F2: bupleurum,ginger;F3: lotus seed;F4: tangerine peel,shenqu,alisma;F5: white lentils;F6: scutellaria baicalensis, coptis, citrus aurantium;F7:ageratum;F8: polyporus umbellatus;F9: papaya, white peony, ebony, cyperus rotundus;F10: evodia, pot belly bark.ConclusionDiarrhea is a common disease in traditional Chinese medicine.traditional Chinese medicine scientists have a systematic theoretical understanding and rich clinical experience of diarrhea. The results of this study are basically consistent with traditional Chinese medicine theory and clinical practice.Diarrhea in the Ming and Qing Dynasties has the following characteristics: in terms of etiology,it can be divided into internal and external causes. The external causes are mainly the feeling of damp evil, and the internal injuries include diet, physical weakness, and emotions. In terms of pathogenesis, the onset of diarrhea is the external feeling of dampness,or the combination of cold, heat, and heat that invades the spleen and stomach, and internal factors such as diet, emotions, physical weakness and other factors affect the spleen and stomach function. The machine is abnormally raised and lowered, and the fine grains of water must not be dispersed. The accumulation of scorching will cause dampness, and betting on the intestines will cause diarrhea. The key to the pathogenesis is spleen deficiency and dampness;the disease location is mainly in the spleen and stomach, closely related to the lung, large intestine, kidney and liver. In terms of medication,it has the distinctive characteristics of first replenishing qi and invigorating the spleen, rich methods of dispelling dampness, regulating qi to assist in the elimination, and treating according to the position of the disease.
