ObjectiveTo investigate the expression of transforming growth factor β2(TGF-β2)and galactose lectin-2(Galectin-2)in the serum of patients with atrial fibrillation,and to explore the role of TGF-β2 and Galectin-2 in atrial inflammatory fibrosis of patients with atrial fibrillation.Methods1.A total of 150 inpatients in the Department of Cardiology,The First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College from June 2019 to May 2020 were selected and divided into paroxysmal atrial fibrillation group and persistent atrial fibrillation group according to the American College of Cardiology(ACC)patient management guidelines.Among them,84 patients in the paroxysmal atrial fibrillation group,66 patients in the persistent AF group,and 120 patients with sinus rhythm who were admitted to hospital during the same period and excluded atrial fibrillation were taken as the control group.2.Collecting and comparing all the research object of general clinical data,including age,gender,history of hypertension,diabetes,stroke and smoking history.At six in the next morning to collect all the subjects on an empty stomach radial venous blood perfect routine blood,biochemical index and related laboratory tests,improve the 12-lead electrocardiogram or 24 hours dynamic electrocardiogram detection.The left atrial diameter(LAD),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD)were examined by color Doppler echocardiography.The expression levels of TGF-β2 and Galectin-2 in each group were detected by Elisa and Western Blot.Statistical analysis of the differences between the two factors in different groups.The correlation between TGF-β2,Galectin-2 and LAD was further determined by Pearson correlation analysis.The influence factors of atrial fibrillation were discussed by binary Logistic regression analysis.Results1.There were no significant differences in gender,history of hypertension,diabetes,stroke and smoking among the three groups(P > 0.05).There were no significant differences in erythrocyte count,white blood cell count,alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate transferase(AST),serum creatinine(SCr)and low density lipoprotein(LDL)among the three groups(P > 0.05).There was no significant difference in LVEF and LVEDD among the three groups(P > 0.05).In general data,the age difference among the three groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Compared with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation(P< 0.05)and persistent atrial fibrillation group(P< 0.05),and there was also a statistical difference between the paroxysmal atrial fibrillation group and the persistent atrial fibrillation group(P< 0.05).2.The serum levels of TGF-β2 and Galectin-2,and their expression levels in peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC)were significantly higher in persistent atrial fibrillation than in paroxysmal atrial fibrillation(P< 0.05)and control group(P<0.05),There were also significant differences in serum concentration and PBMC expression between the paroxysmal atrial fibrillation group and the control group(P<0.05).3.Pearson correlation analysis showed that LAD and TGF-β2(r=0.529,P< 0.05),LAD and Galectin-2(r=0.718,P< 0.05)were positively correlated;There was a positive correlation between TGF-β2 concentration and Galectin-2 concentration(r=0.669,P< 0.05).4.The results of binary Logistic multi-factor regression analysis are as follows:TGF-β2(OR=1.012,95%CI=1.004-1.021),Galectin-2(OR=1.138,95%CI=1.042-1.243),LAD(OR=1.635,95%CI=1.282-2.086).ConclusionTGF-β2 and Galectin-2 are closely related to the occurrence and development of atrial fibrillation.Both TGF-β2 and Galectin-2 were positively correlated with LAD.The three have a synergistic effect on the occurrence and progression of atrial inflammatory fibrosis in patients with ATRIAL fibrillation,jointly promoting mechanical and electrical remodeling of atrial,and can be used as risk factors to evaluate the occurrence and progression of atrial fibrillation.
