| Since the new curriculum reform was carried out,more and more English teachers in primary school paid attention to the cultivation of students’ learning interest,and game activities are widely used in English class in primary school as an effective method,which makes English learning style no longer boring,but towards a process full of life and joy.But some English teachers had many problems,such as implementation problem,no expected effect,can’t achieve teaching aims.Surrounding these problems,guided by the concept of new curriculum standards,this paper defines the concept of game and game activities by reading a large amount of relevant literature and takes a primary school in Nanchang as the object of investigation and research.By questionnaire of students,interview of teachers and observation of English class,The current situation of game activities in primary English teaching are objectively presented,besides,the author makes an in-depth discussion on the investigation results and analyzes the causes of problems in the application of game activities.Through in-depth investigation,analysis and research,this paper finds that the use of game activities in primary school English teaching mainly has the following problems :(1)game activity design: game goal positioning is not appropriate,excessive pursuit of excitement;game design difficulty is not suitable,students experience is not good;game design innovation is insufficient,freshness is not enough.(2)Participation in game activities: the participation of the game is limited and becomes the display of some students;the interaction between teachers and students is insufficient,and the cooperation between students and students is insufficient.(3)The regulation and control of game activities: less evaluation methods,less emotional attention to students;insufficient educational wisdom,classroom discipline is not easy to control;insufficient attention to students,not good at giving full play to students’ initiative;novice teachers’ accomplishment is not high,and the teaching progress is not grasped correctly.Aiming at these three problems,this paper proposes corresponding suggestions and countermeasures,and tries to construct effective strategies of primary school English classroom game activities,perfect the organic combination of game activities and primary school English teaching,and make the participation of game activities play its most effective role in primary school English teaching. |
