As a product of the information age,flipped classroom teaching mode is the inevitable trend of China’s future development of educational informationization.However,the flipped classroom used in oral English teaching in secondary vocational schools is still relatively backward at present.Therefore,starting from the teaching practice,the author tries to apply this model to the teaching of oral English in secondary vocational schools to explore whether it may improve secondary vocational students’ learning interest,oral English ability and autonomous learning ability by means of such research instruments as literature research,questionnaire,teaching experiment and interview.It is expected that the finding of the research may provide some theoretical guidance and practical reference for later teaching workers and researchers.This paper deeply expounds the rise and development of flipped classroom in foreign countries,the previous research on oral English teaching,especially in secondary vocational schools,in recent years at home and abroad,and puts forward the flipped classroom teaching model for oral English teaching in secondary vocational schools.In order to verify the validity of this model,the researcher selects eighty students who from two classes in grade 2019 of a secondary vocational school as the subjects,and the experiment has been conducted for one semester.Before the experiment,the current situation of students’ oral English learning in secondary vocational schools was presented by mean of a questionnaire and an interview.By analyzing the pre-test scores of the two classes,it is found that there is no significant difference in oral English performance between the experimental class and the control class before the experiment.During the experiment,the flipped classroom teaching mode is adopted in the experimental class,whereas the traditional teaching mode in control class.After the experiment,through the analysis of the oral test scores of the experimental class and the control class,it is found that there are significant differences between the two classes,and the flipped classroom teaching mode has improved the oral English performance of the experimental class students.The questionnaire and interview also show that students’ interest in learning English and autonomous learning ability are improved.Therefore,this study finds that flipped classroom teaching model has a significant positive effect on promoting secondary vocational students’ learning interest,oral English performance and autonomous learning ability.
