| With the continuous development of global economicization,the standards for talent demand are increasingly improved,which requires students not only to have solid professional basic knowledge,but also to have a strong comprehensive competence.The English curriculum standard for compulsory education puts forward the English curriculum objectives composed of language skills,language knowledge,emotional attitude,learning strategies and cultural awareness.It not only requires the development of students’ language ability and mental development,but also requires the development of students’ thinking ability so as to improve students’ comprehensive competence.In junior high school English teaching,teachers are required to focus on the cultivation of students ’core competence,and cooperative learning is a favorable way to cultivate students’ core competence.The English core competence includes four aspects:language ability,cultural awareness,learning ability,and thinking quality.Cooperative learning plays an irreplaceable role in the cultivation of students’ English core competence.As a new teaching method,cooperative learning plays an important role in cultivating language acquisition ability,cultural awareness,learning ability,thinking quality,independent thinking ability and other comprehensive competence of English,which are an important part of students’ core qualities.This research aims to explore whether cooperative learning can improve students’ interest in learning English,their learning ability,and their autonomous inquiry ability.In this study,students from two classes of Dongchang middle school,Grade 8,were taken as research objects to conduct teaching experiments for one semester.Cooperative learning and traditional teaching models were respectively used in the experimental class and control class.In the experiment,questionnaire surveys,interviews,and control experiment were used.The questionnaires and SPSS were used for statistical analysis of the data.To prove the impact of cooperative learning under core competence on improving students’ English learning interest,learning ability and autonomous inquiry ability.Through the analysis of the results before and after the experiment of the two classes,it is found that the results of the experimental class after the implementation of cooperative learning are significantly improved compared with before,which indicates that cooperative learning is helpful to improve students’ English level.Through the analysis of the questionnaires,it is found that most students in the experimental class believed that cooperative learning improved the learning atmosphere in the class,enhances their interest in learning English,improves their communication skills and autonomous inquiry capabilities.At the same time,through interviews,the author found that the cooperative learning under core competence has problems such as insufficient connection between teaching content and whole person development,and insufficient core competence elements for students,and then proposed preliminary measures to solve the problem and infiltrate the measures into the teaching plan. |
