The textbook for teaching Chinese as a foreign language plays a decisive role in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.At present,the published textbooks for teaching Chinese as a foreign language are mainly divided into two types: nationalized and general-purpose.The general-purpose textbooks also include multi-language versions of general-purpose textbooks,Such as Happy Chinese,Follow Me Learn Chinese,Contemporary Chinese and other key textbooks designated by the Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters for overseas Chinese teaching.Most of these multilingual versions of textbooks are based on English annotations,and are optimized and improved for the cultural and linguistic habits of each target language country.Although the multi-language version of the general-purpose textbook has achieved certain results in meeting the Chinese language teaching in the primary stage of each country,these teaching materials still have mixed views in the use of teachers and students.At present,the two textbooks that are more frequently used in Bulgarian college students and social adult classes are Contemporary Chinese(Bulgarian edition)and HSK Standard Course.Although these two textbooks are for Chinese language courses and one for examinations,but there is a complementary relationship between the two,which has been providing guidance for Bulgarian Chinese teaching in recent years.Therefore,this thesis selects these two sets of textbooks,and compares and analyzes their content structure,writing style,language elements,text layout,cultural items,and exercise settings.It is hoped that the results will help the preparation of Bulgarian Chinese textbooks and even overseas Chinese textbooks.This paper is divided into three parts.First,after the first part explains the reasons for the selection,the significance of the research and the research methods,the content structure of the two textbooks Contemporary Chinese(Bulgarian edition)and HSK Standard Course is followed.Write a detailed introduction.The second part is the core content of this paper,which is mainly to compare and analyze the language elements,texts,cultural function project arrangement and practice setting of the two textbooks of Contemporary Chinese(Bulgarian Edition)and HSK Standard Course.Find out the commonalities and individualities between the two textbooks and their respective strengths and weaknesses.The third part combines the results of the aforementioned comparative analysis and proposes relevant suggestions for the optimization of the two sets of Chinese textbooks currently taught by teachers,students’ learning,and the future based on the characteristics of learning Chinese in Bulgarian students.It also provides the compilation of Bulgarian Chinese textbooks ideas.
