A Report On E-C Translation Of Part Ⅳ Of Nation,Language And The Ethics Of Translation

This report bases on the translation practice in Part IV of Nation,Language and the Ethics of Translation.Translation materials,which have four papers about 15000 words,are concerned with the impact of translation ethics on English translation development and the effect of internationalism and nationalism on translation ethics.The original texts are academic articles that have a profound influence to translate English into Chinese.English researchers can learn the detailed translation of language functions and translation ethics by translators from different countries in the post-colonial era.The report was guided by Eugene Nida’s theory of functional equivalence,which mainly includes four aspects: lexical equivalence,syntactic equivalence,textual equivalence,stylistic equivalence.Under the guidance of functional equivalence,the author chose some specific translation strategies and methods to deal with problems encountered,such as supplement,omission,free translation,conversion.The content of this translation report mainly divides into five parts.The background of the project is made in first chapter,which is the review on the studies of the ethics of translation and the significance of the project;the second part is about the description of translation process;the third chapter introduces Nida’s translation theory and its feasibility;the fourth part will analyze the typical cases in this paper with the various methods.The last chapter is a summary of the report.
