Due to the diversity of geographical environment in China, the frequent occurrence of water inrush disaster in karst tunnel not only causes casualties but also damages the groundwater system. At present, the main treatment of water-bursting disaster is grouting. But,the theory of dynamic water grouting still has faultiness. In order to better study the methods of treating the water inrush disaster, academic exchanges on a global scale are of great importance. The report on translation chooses a scientific and technological thesis entitled "The Rheological Test and Application Research of Glass Fiber Cement Slurry Based on Plugging Mechanism of Dynamic Water Grouting" as the source text, which mainly introduces the commonly used methods of treating the water inrush disaster.Guided by Functional Equivalence Theory, the report analyzes the methods and strategies of translating scientific and technological texts. And it is composed of four chapters.Chapter One makes an introduction to the source text, including its features, research background and significance.Chapter Two describes the translation process that consists of the theoretical guide, preparation before translation, translation procedure and quality control after translation.Based on the case analyses,Chapter Three discusses the translation strategies of the source text at lexical, syntactic and discourse levels.Chapter Four shares the reflections and experience learned from the translation practice and problems to be solved.By completing the translation task and translation report, the translator has a certain understanding of translating such scientific and technological texts. In the process of translating scientific and technological texts, translators can reasonably use relevant translation strategies under the guidance of Functional Equivalence Theory to ensure that the target text objectively and accurately transmits the content of the source text.
