Thematic Research Of The Bing Yinyang Jia In Zhanguo Qin And Han

The concept of ‘Bing Yinyang Jia’ first appeared in the article,Yiwenzhi of Hanshu.Scholars in Han dynasty divided military books into four parts,including Bing Yinyang Jia,to arrange them properly.As all of the books of Bing Yinyang Jia were lost after Tang dynasty,scholars after that could only conceive the figure of Bing Yinyang Jia blurrily from the scattered paragraphs in other books.Unearthed documents containing lots of precious contents about Bing Yinyang doctrine bring us new materials of great value.There are developing and summarizing to Bing Yinyang doctrine in Zhanguo Qin and Han period.Studying Bing Yinyang Jia of this period can help us to find out the academic characteristics of Bing Yinyang doctrine and the reason of Bing Yinyang doctrine’s exuberant vitality.There are five main parts in this paper.First of all,discussing the sources of Bing Yinyang doctrine from the relationships between it and the‘Tianming’perception in military area,the early Yinyang Wuxing doctrine,the Yinyang Jia and the Shushu Jia.Secondly,analyzing the contents of Bing Yinyang doctrine from the books recorded in Yiwenzhi of Hanshu,unearthed documents,and the relative parts in traditional books.Thirdly,discussing the relationship between Bing Yinyang doctrine and Huanglao Taoism by the Bing Yinyang contents in Huanglao Taoism literature.Fourthly,discussing the developing and restraining of the Bing Yinyang doctrine during Qin and Han period.Finally,discussing the relationship between Bing Yinyang doctrine and weapon’s structure and marks,the horse gods,and the judging horse method.
