A Report On The Revision Of The Translation Exercises In The CATTI-2 Translation Test

Revision in translation refers to the process of correcting and polishing the original,aiming at improving the quality of the original translated texts.As the final line of defense in translation activities,it has played a vital role in controlling the quality of translation.Because the world is witnessing a growing number of cultural exchanges,the demand for various kinds of translation is greatly boosted and the scholars have deepened their theoretical research on revision.However,there are relatively few translation reports focusing on the subject of revision with most of them lacking a thorough analysis of the revision process.Under such circumstance,the author chose "revision" to be the theme of this report.In this report,the author will give an in-depth analysis to the original translation by using the CEA framework of "comprehension,expression and adaptation".Advantages and disadvantages of the original translation will be pointed out,and the process of revision will be demonstrated.In addition,the author will make a comparative analysis between the original version,the revised version and the official translation reference,summarizing the characteristics of the different versions to illustrate how the author has understood translation.The original materials used in this report are all from the paragraphs in the CATTI-2 Translation Test.Passages in this text are of high quality and moderate difficulty,which is an ideal choice for proofreading materials.The provider of the original translation is a graduate student majoring in English linguistics in our university.Last semester,author of the report was asked by the student to assist her in revising the translation exercises.Based on the revision for the student,the author selected some typical examples for further analysisBy writing this report,the author has illustrated the key difficulties in the revision process by means of comparing the differences,advantages and disadvantages of multiple versions of translations so that the author has enhanced the application of related theories in revision.In addition,this report combines the CEA framework with the theme of revision in a creative way,showing how to use the CEA framework to write a translation report related with revision.
