Reading is an important link between teachers’ knowledge output and students’ knowledge absorption.However,in practice,many teachers have blurred the focus of reading teaching,overemphasized the analysis and explanation of words and sentences,and ignored the students’ learning strategies.The goal of English Teaching in primary school is to make students form the awareness of English learning,learn to think according to the characteristics of English subject,and then cultivate the fun of English learning.Mind map is a tool that makes use of the conjunction of pictures and words to visualize the process of thinking and schema the complex content.As a new and effective teaching aid,mind map connects all parts of the article with main lines and branches to form a clear structure,which helps students to clarify their reading ideas and improve their autonomous reading ability and reading efficiency.This study applies the mind map model to senior primary school reading teaching,and explores the effect of this model on the improvement of students’ reading habits,reading attitude and reading strategies.It is hoped that this study can provide new ideas for the current senior primary school English reading teaching.Based on knowledge visualization theory,schema theory and brain science theory,this study adopts three rounds of action research,and collects research data by means of questionnaire survey,interview and classroom observation,so as to explore the best way of applying mind mapping mode in reading teaching of senior primary school.The results show that the English reading teaching based on mind map model improves the concept of teachers’ English reading teaching,cultivates pupils’ creative and divergent thinking,clarifies pupils’ English reading motivation,and improves pupils’ autonomous learning and cooperation ability.Through the implementation of three rounds of action research,it also provides some suggestions for senior primary school reading teaching: first,from the perspective of design,teachers should build English reading theme unit and students’ learning community.Second,from the perspective of implementation,teachers should not only formulate learning guidelines to modularize classroom time,but also optimize the way of questioning and adopt "induction inspiration" questioning.Third,from the perspective of evaluation,teachers should use more "negotiation dialogue" evaluation to stimulate self thinking.
