| The demand for translation of documents,papers and books in aviation economy is gradually increasing with the continuous development in this field in China.This translation report summarizes the characteristics of aviation texts and the difficulties in Chinese-English translation,and puts forward corresponding solutions to guide the translation of such scientific and technological documents in order to promote the exchange and development of aviation information at home and abroad based on the translation practice of China Aviation Economic Development Index Report(CAEDIR)(2019).The translation materials of this project are selected from Chapter 7 of CAEDIR(2019).It is the newest achievement of the Collaborative Innovation Center for Aviation Economic Development in ZUA.The author is Professor Hao Aimin,which is a famous aviation economics expert.Under the guidance of Newmark’s Correlative Theory,this project analyzes the difficulties encountered in translation practice and the solutions with the focus on the lexical,syntactic and discourse levels.According to the characteristics of the translated text,the report adopts the translation skills of Chinese culture-loaded nouns in context and the translation of verbs into nouns at the lexical level;At the syntactic level,it puts forward three solutions: change from active to passive voices,adjustment of word order and removal of redundancy.At the discourse level,it proposes two translation techniques:addition of conjunctions and addition of pronouns.This translation report introduces the background and significance of the translation project,as well as the source and characteristics of the original text in the first chapter.The second chapter is a description of translation tasks,including preparations before translation,difficulties in the translation,the theoretical guidelines adopted and the postediting.The third chapter analyzes the specific translation practice under the guidance of the theory in detail with specific cases.Finally,it summarizes the translation practice and offers several suggestions for further research and practice. |
