Carl Maria von Weber(1786.11.18-1826.06.5),a German composer in the romantic period,was considered the first romantic opera in Germany,which was called Der Freischutz.As the beginning of German Romantic Opera,the research value of Der Freischutz is obvious.This paper is mainly composed of three parts.The first part introduces the development process of German opera since the middle ages,and analyzes how German opera develops to romantic opera with national characteristics in 19 th century step by step.The second part mainly introduces the creation of the opera Der Freischutz.In the first section,the author makes a brief introduction to the era and cultural background of opera creation.In the second section,the text content of opera is analyzed,mainly about the plot of Der Freischutz and the analysis of the characters and lyrics of the opera.The third part analyzes the music noumenon and influence of Der Freischutz.The first section analyzes the application of "singing melody" and "dominant motive" in the music elements.The second section summarizes the stage setting and clothing characteristics of Der Freischutz.The third section analyzes the important influence of Der Freischutz on Wagner,another German composer.
