| With the continuous development of international Chinese teaching,Chinese teachers are gradually concerned by people.As the main role of teaching activities,Chinese teachers’ psychological factors affect teachers’ teaching behavior,and teaching behavior affects students’ learning effect.Teachers’ personal teaching efficacy refers to teachers’ understanding and evaluation of their own teaching effect,as well as their subjective judgment of whether they have confidence in themselves and have an impact on students’ learning behavior.This paper takes the internal motivation of teaching behavior,personal teaching efficacy,as the research content,and takes the international Chinese teachers who teach in Africa as the samples.It studies from the three dimensions of teachers’ personal teaching efficacy-"competence sense","sense of class teaching" and "sense of success",and analyzes the impacts of personal teaching efficacy on Chinese teachers who teach in Africa.Finally,the paper puts forward suggestions for the selection and training of international Chinese teachers,as well as ways to improve the personal teaching efficacy of Chinese teachers.This paper is an empirical study.According to the existing teaching efficacy scale,the author developed a scale to measure the personal teaching efficacy of Chinese teachers in Africa,and distributed and collected it by questionnaire.Through the "Questionnaire Star",the author sent out the electronic questionnaire to Chinese teachers who have ever taught Chinese or are teaching Chinese in Africa.A total of 77 valid questionnaires were collected.Using spss25.0 to analyze the collected data,we can draw the following conclusions:First,the overall sense of teaching efficacy of international Chinese teachers in Africa has not reached a very high level,and many teachers still lack self-confidence that they can complete the teaching task and have an impact on students’ learning behavior.Second,among the three dimensions of personal teaching efficacy of Chinese teachers in Africa,the "competence sense" is the highest,while the " sense of classroom teaching" and "sense of success" are relatively low,which indicates that the personal teaching efficacy of before class is slightly higher than that in and after class.Third,the ability of teachers’ classroom management has a great influence on the individual teaching efficacy,and many teachers lack confidence in their classroom management ability.Fourth,although the Confucius Institute Headquarters,which is called Center for Language Education and Cooperation now,in the selection of Chinese teachers recently,prefer the major of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages which in master’s degree.However,major is not the significant factor affecting Chinese teachers’ personal teaching efficacy in Africa,academic factors have a small impact on it.Fifthly,gender has no significant effect on the personal teaching efficacy of Chinese teachers in Africa,but age has.The author further reflects on the factors that affect the personal teaching efficacy of Chinese teachers in Africa from the aspects of the feminization of teachers’ profession,the younger age of teachers,the professionalization of teacher selection,and the lack of teaching ability.The author believes that in the selection and training of Chinese teachers,we should focus on the reserve of Chinese basic knowledge and teaching ability,enhance teachers’ ability of classroom organization and management,and strengthen teachers’ training in writing teaching design,designing teaching scheme,being familiar with teaching links,and selecting teaching methods.The effective ways to improve the personal efficacy of Chinese teachers in Africa are to increase and consolidate the reserves of Chinese knowledge,to enhance teachers’ professional quality,to improve their professional identity and to update and supplement psychological knowledge. |
