The Study On Chu Xin Punctuation And Annotation Of Zuo Zhuan Xuan

Chu Xin is a well-known literator and critic in the early Qing Dynasty.Zuo Zhuan Xuan is his important punctuation and annotation work,which represents his critical thinking and literary ideas.So far,Zuo Zhuan Xuan has not received the attention it deserves.This thesis intends to conduct a systematic investigation of Zuo Zhuan Xuan,and digging out the ideological and cultural content contained in Zuo Zhuan Xuan and its punctuation and annotation features.The introduction part mainly summarizes the research significance,research status and research methods of Zuo Zhuan Xuan.Although it has the research value of literature,philology,and the history of commentary,the academic community has not paid enough attention to this book.There is still a lot of room for the research of Chu Xin’s punctuation and annotation on Zuo Zhuan Xuan.The first chapter mainly introduces the background of Zuo Zhuan Xuan.This part mainly discusses two aspects:the background of the times and Chu Xin’s personal experience.From the perspective of the background of the times,the truth-seeking and retro style in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the prevailing style of commenting on Zuo in the early Qing Dynasty jointly promoted the compilation of Zuo Zhuan Xuan.In terms of personal experience,under the influence of the cultural atmosphere of the Chu family,Chu Xin formed the concept of advocating ancient prose,and later put the ancient prose concept into practice through the establishment of associations and writing and giving lectures.These experiences have all promoted the birth of Zuo Zhuan Xuan.The second chapter examines the compilation style and edition of Zuo Zhuan Xuan.The selections in the book Zuo Zhuan Xuan reflect Chu Xin’s overall view of the article.Chu Xin’s punctuation and annotation method is similar to that of Song people,only commenting on key points,inheriting and turning points and the comments are concise.There are many editions of Zuo Zhuan Xuan,which reflects its popularity,and has a great influence on the punctuation and annotation of Zuo Zhuan Xuan in later generations.The third chapter mainly discusses Chu Xin’s propositions about the world from three aspects:ritual and people,education and strategy,and emperor and minister.Chu Xin was influenced by both the factors of the times and his own Confucian status,and he took the responsibility of practical statecraft.As a Confucian intellectual,he preached and defended Zhou rituals when commenting,with strong people-oriented thinking and a pursuit of the king’s good and the minister’s virtue.At the same time,he was deeply influenced by the times.When commenting,he wanted to use the article to play the value of education,give advice on the strange,new,and different of the art of war,and enlighten the future generations of students,in order to achieve the purpose of applying the experience to the world.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the grammatical characteristics of Zuo Zhuan Xuan from the angles of character,syntax,and methodicalness.The magic of wording lies in the magical use of keywords,conceptual characters,and special characters.The change in syntax lies in the use of sentence rhetoric and sentence length changes to demonstrate the unique charm of Zuo’s syntax.The degree of methodicalness lies in the analysis of the layout of the article.Advocating Zuo’s superb narrative skills to inspire later learning.The fifth chapter mainly explores the punctuation and annotation features of Zuo Zhuan Xuan.As a critic in the early Qing Dynasty,Chu Xin had both the commonality of the times and his own unique personality when criticizing the Tso Chuan.Zuo Zhuan Xuan not only follows the succinct language of the Ming Dynasty’s criticism but also pays attention to the refinement of the criticism form;it not only pays attention to the subtlety of the characters in the Tso Chuan but also pursues the novelty of its own criticism;it has a distinct tendency to worship the ancients but also differs from popular customs when it comes to expressing one’s own views.The conclusion part mainly discusses the value and shortcomings of this article.
