| English vocabulary is one of the three elements in language acquisition.Vocabulary teaching is the basic link in senior high school English teaching.On the basis of vocabulary accumulation,students can develop the other four learning links of listening,speaking,reading and writing.In Mongolian senior high school,students have experienced the confusion of Chinese and Mongolian since childhood.Since learning English,the pronunciation and spelling of English vocabulary make Mongolian high school students feel very confused and puzzled.This study is devoted to the application of CALL in vocabulary teaching in Mongolian senior high school,so as to promote Mongolian high school students’ vocabulary learning proficiency.The following three questions are illuminated in the study:Question 1:What are the Mongolian senior high school students’ attitudes towards the vocabulary learning under the use of the CALL?Question 2:What effects does the CALL have on the Mongolian senior high school students’ vocabulary learning strategies?Question 3:To what extent can CALL improve the Mongolian senior high school students’ vocabulary proficiency?From April 16,2020 to July 23,2020,a total of 14 weeks,the experiment was conducted in Kazuo Mongolian Senior High School of Chaoyang City,Liaoning Province.A total of 98 Grade Ten students from two classes were selected as the research object samples.The two classes were divided into Experimental Class 12 and Control Class 10.During the experiment,two classes adopted different teaching methods,and class 12(Experimental Class)applied CALL teaching,class 10(Control Class)employed the traditional teaching method.The experimental data of the two classes were collected and analyzed by qualitative and quantitative methods.Through experiments and data analysis,it is concluded that students’ learning interest has been observably boosted after using the CALL to teach English vocabulary,which proves that the CALL can have energetic impact on students’ vocabulary learning strategies to a very large extent.Therefore,students’ vocabulary learning proficiency has been markedly enhanced and progressed.This clearly shows that the CALL has an effective influence and improvement on the English vocabulary teaching and learning of Mongolian high school students.At the end of the paper,some instructional enlightments and proposals are proposed,hoping to offer assistance to students and teachers at different stages in different teaching fields. |
