Since the 1990 s,the urbanization process has greatly changed the traditional rural attribute of China and caused the comprehensive transformation of Chinese society. As cities gradually replace rural areas on the Chinese reality stage, the local creations of contemporary Chinese writers in the new century have turned to the urbanized “sub-native narration”.With the peasants in cities becoming the narrative subjects of the local literature and urban space becoming the main narrative space of the new local literature instead of rural areas, there are new changes in the aesthetic style of the local literature. In the text of local novels in the first decade of the new century, the city,as the living carrier, has experienced the dynamic process from the peasants’ yearning for the city and making a living in the city and then to the gradual alienation. Before the peasants entered the city, the city accumulated the energy of modernization and became a yearning place where the peasants can get rid of the rural life and realize their own values with its advanced and civilized image;after entering the city, the peasants in the city not only suffered from physical abuse but also suffered from the embarrassment of identity;in the end,the peasants fled from the city and returned to their local land due to the loss of their ideals and reality. However, the loss of their local land made them suffer the pain of being unable to return to their local land,so they had to set foot on the road to the city again in the spiritual loss.Facing the dual living pressure of rural areas and the city and the spiritual difficulties encountered by the peasants in the urbanization process, local writers who have the humanistic spirits automatically assume the role of “spokesmen for the lower class” and criticize the evil of modern civilization. At the same time, because they have not made sufficient preparations for modernity, they have fallen into the paradox of urban and rural values and the loss of local land in the integration and conflict of pre-modern and modern civilizations.
