Since the emergence of task-based language teaching(TBLT)in 1980s,Chinese scholars began to explore how to apply this kind of teaching method to the practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This teaching method emphasizes "learning by doing",using specific tasks to promote learning,focusing on output,interaction and authenticity.Based on the experience of teaching Chinese in Confucius Institute of Minsk State Linguistic university in Belarus,this paper attempts to use task-based teaching method to carry out the teaching experiment of primary Chinese comprehensive course,design teaching links that meet the needs of learners and local characteristics,realize the aim of cultivating learners’ ability in listening,speaking,reading,writing and using Chinese for communication in an all-round way,and improve the teaching efficiency of Chinese classes.By means of classroom observation,questionnaire survey and interview,this paper studies the implementation of task-based teaching method in primary Chinese comprehensive course and the results achieved and finally in order to promote the development of Chinese teaching in Belarus.Six parts are included.In the first part,the background of the topic and the research status at home and abroad are reviewed,the significance of the topic and research methods are analyzed.The second part expounds the connotation and theoretical basis of TBLT.The third part is the status analysis of the Chinese teaching in Confucius Institute of Minsk State Linguistic university,and summarizes the necessity and feasibility of implementing task-based teaching method.The fourth part sets up the experimental class and the control class,designs the teaching experiment and presents one concrete case.The fifth part summarizes and rethinks the application of task-based teaching mode in the elementary Chinese comprehensive course and some suggestions are put forward for teaching and textbook compilation.The sixth part is the conclusion,which summarizes the paper and points out the existing problems.
