As one of the most important courses,English reading is a greatly necessary teaching link in senior high school learning,which is closely related to the development of students’ comprehensive ability.In the reading class,different roles of teachers have different functions on the teaching process and teaching effect.Choosing the appropriate role of teachers can promote the teaching process,help students develop their independent reading ability,and promote the success of teaching practice.Therefore,under the new curriculum standard system,English teachers in senior high school should actively update teaching ideas,innovate teaching methods,accurately position the role in reading teaching practice and successfully change the role,so as to stimulate students’ initiative and creativity in reading learning,and improve the teaching effect of English reading class in senior high school.Under the guidance of Carl Ransom Rogers’ "student-centered" teaching concept and AH Maslow’s internal education theory,the researcher has read a lot of literature about senior high school English teaching and teacher’s roles,and 15 high-quality video lessons of English Classroom Teaching in senior high school are identified as the research object,This paper is focused on the analysis of different role positioning,and discusses how teachers should position their roles in senior high school English reading class,so as to promote the successful practice of reading teaching,help students improve their reading comprehension ability and develop good reading habits.The result of case analysis shows that: 1.In the highly-quality English Reading Class of senior high school,teachers choose appropriate role positioning according to different reading topics and teaching needs,and successfully carry out role conversion in different reading links,which can improve the teaching effect of reading class.2.In the highly-quality English Reading Class of senior high school,teachers successfully change their roles and position,adapt to the new teaching mode and highlight students’ main role in reading learning,which fully stimulate students’ enthusiasm and initiative in English reading learning.3.In the high-quality reading class,teachers can have a flexible role positioning and apply it to different reading teaching,playing the role of teaching promoter,activity designer,participants in learning activities and promoter for students’ development,which will help students develop their comprehensive language ability and promote their all-round development.Based on the research result,the researcher believes that teachers should do a good job in role positioning and flexibly apply it to the teaching process in English reading of senior high school.It is suggested that teachers should change their teaching ideas,change their roles and position successfully in English reading teaching by improving their personal ability and quality,enhancing students’ language ability and multiple evaluation of teaching&learning results,so as to improve the efficiency of classroom teaching and develop students’ independent reading ability.In addition,the researcher also pointed out the limitation of this paper and proposed further research plan.
