| There are many cross-cultural communication factors in English learning.Cultural factors such as history,geography,customs,life customs,behavioral norms,and values in Western countries affect students’ learning and use of English.In the context of the new curriculum,English teaching has also begun to focus on subject integration.This article analyzes the geographical knowledge in the English teaching materials for primary schools,and designs the teaching case of geographical knowledge to assist the primary school English,and lays a solid foundation for the comprehensive promotion of primary school English teaching.Through case analysis,find out teaching problems,learn lessons,explore suitable English teaching methods for primary school students,stimulate students’ interest in learning,and enable students to form multi-directional thinking,improving students’ comprehensive literacy in language,thinking,aesthetics and culture,and training students Comprehensive language skills.At the same time,it also enriches teachers’ cognition of geographical knowledge in primary school English textbooks and creates a strong teaching atmosphere.Clarify teachers’ teaching plans and teaching directions,improve teachers’ ability to integrate,reorganize,and generate teaching content,and improve teachers’ theoretical literacy.This paper takes the PEP English textbook for compulsory education as an example,draws on the domestic elementary school English teaching cases with geographical knowledge based on the literature research method,and uses the case analysis method to analyze and discuss the 5 selected cases,and proposed the design strategy of the elementary school English teaching case with geographical knowledge,and design 5 English teaching case of the elementary school with geographical knowledge is implemented,and then the case is implemented and reflected,and summarized by the experience summary method and the practical research method.Research shows that compared with previous teaching cases,students are more yearning for the current teaching methods.Teachers will not blindly explain,but encourage and create opportunities for students to explore,focus on subject integration,integrate simple geographical knowledge,Chinese and Western cultural differences,and improve Cross-cultural awareness,and stimulate students’ interest through various teaching activities,satisfy students’ curiosity and desire for knowledge,broaden their horizons,and improve learning efficiency and comprehensive literacy.The following conclusions are drawn: Geographical knowledge contained in primary school English textbooks includes geographical location,seasons and weather,earth movement,time difference,topography and landforms.This article is sorted out with tables and mind maps.After statistics,it involves four types: geographic name,geographic distribution,geographic landscape,and geographic evolution;In this article,five primary school English teaching cases containing geographical knowledge are designed.After implementation,it is concluded that the integration of geographical knowledge in English classrooms can not only stimulate students’ interest in learning geography,but also improve students’ various abilities and comprehensive literacy.Geographical knowledge can help interpret teaching content,improve the efficiency of English learning,and cultivate students’ cross-cultural awareness;Through case analysis and personal implementation of the case,the author puts forward 6 strategies on how to design primary English teaching cases with geographical knowledge:according to the curriculum standards,sublimate the teaching goals;combine elementary science courses to meet the students’ cognitive laws;use expansion links and extracurricular Activities,make extensions and supplements;stay close to life and stimulate students’ interest in learning;create scenarios around topics;enrich teaching methods with the help of teaching resources. |
