On Male Writing In Hong Ying’s Novels

Hong Ying is a famous overseas Chinese woman writer in the 20 th century.Throughout Hong Ying’s works,female writing has been the focus of many writers.Critics believe that Hong Ying creates a world of female experience in her novels,which reflects her rebellion against patriarchal culture and her concern for women’s intrinsic value.As an important part of Hong Ying’s novels,male images have unique artistic value and personal charm.Men in Hong Ying’s novels are by no means a single false,despicable and obscene negative image.They are survivors who have different life experiences,struggle hard at the bottom,endure the hardships and hardships of life.However,critics seem to lack sufficient care and understanding of how female writers write about men,what kind of situation men are placed in,and what kind of criticism or praise they get.Therefore,this paper takes the male writing in Hong Ying’s works as the research object,trying to fill the blank of male image research.The thesis is mainly composed of introduction and text: the introduction mainly introduces the origin,research status,research ideas and methods of male writing in Hong Ying novels.There are four chapters in the text: the first chapter expounds the creation and female narration of Hong Ying,including the growth experience and female consciousness of Hong Ying,which lays a foundation for the study of male image in Hong Ying’s novels.The second chapter analyzes the male image types and characteristics of Hong Ying.In this paper,the male image in Hong Ying’s novels is divided into three types: the elite group with interest,the lost and confused social fringe,and the weak and humble urban poor.The third chapter discusses the artistic technique of Hong Ying male writing.These techniques include rebellious female narrative context,unique female narrative perspective and the evolution of gender relations in different periods of the author.The fourth chapter discusses the value and artistic limitation of Hong Ying male writing.The value includes recalling national suffering,enriching the male types of contemporary novels,and showing Hong Ying’s careful portrayal of male characters in his works.The limitation of art mainly negates the social value of men,immobilizes the types and beautifies foreign men,which makes Hong Ying lose the possibility of shaping more diverse male images.
