《K-10 Chinese syllabus》 is a regional Chinese course syllabus issued in New South Wales,Australia for Chinese teaching.According to the different backgrounds and ages of students,the syllabus sets corresponding teaching objectives and contents,which plays a guiding role in the local K-10 Chinese teaching.Based on the Chinese teaching situation in New South Wales,Australia,this paper uses the methods of comparative analysis,questionnaire survey and interview to carry out relevant research on the syllabus.First of all,this paper mainly studies the formulation and revision standards,main contents and characteristics of《K-10 Chinese syllabus》.This paper summarizes the six characteristics of the syllabus: Functional Syllabus in nature,task-based teaching in teaching methods,differentiated teaching in accordance with the diverse background of teaching objects,teaching objectives in different levels,focus on cross-cultural communication as the core,and emphasis on the integration of language skills.Secondly,in order to further understand《K-10 Chinese syllabus》,this paper makes a comparative analysis between this syllabus and《International curriculum for Chinese language education》 issued by Hanban / Confucius Institute,and compares the two syllabus from five perspectives,including the structure framework,teaching object,classification,teaching method and teaching emphasis,so as to find out the differences between them,so as to give full play to the two syllabus Mutual assistance in local Chinese teaching.In addition,on the basis of analyzing and summarizing the main contents and characteristics of《K-10 Chinese syllabus》,this paper uses questionnaire survey and personal interview to investigate the impact of the outline on the local Chinese teaching,and also investigates the direct feedback of local Chinese teachers on the use of the outline.Finally,this paper puts forward four suggestions for Chinese teaching in New South Wales,Australia,including the practicability of 《K-10 Chinese syllabus》,the localization of 《International curriculum for Chinese language education》,the revelation of《K-10 Chinese syllabus》to teachers,textbooks and teaching resources,and the revelation of K-10 Chinese syllabus to Chinese students and parents.
