In the prevalence of the COVID-19 pandemic,online Chinese teaching has become the main form of international Chinese teaching.Online Confucius Institutes,ZOOM,MOOC,and self-built platforms of various Chinese teaching institutions have become the main teaching positions.Most of these teaching platforms can ensure real-time interaction between teachers and students,but the interaction can only be through video communication,and many methods used in offline classrooms cannot be achieved.What are the characteristics of the teacher-student verbal interaction in online Chinese teaching? How to realize the teacher-student verbal interaction in the process of online Chinese teaching has therefore become an urgent problem to be solved.This thesis takes the teacher-student speech interaction of two typical online comprehensive Chinese courses as the research object,and uses the Flanders interaction analysis system and the foreign Chinese classroom observation scale to quantify the teacher-student speech interaction behavior.Analyzing from three aspects:students participation,teacher speech and teacher-student interaction.Studies have found that online Chinese language courses have the following characteristics: 1)There is less two-way interaction between teachers and students;2)There are fewer teacher-student interaction activities,and lack of communication and fun;3)The form of interaction of elementary Chinese courses is single,there is little emotional communication,and students’ initiative is weak.Intermediate Chinese class has rich interactive forms,more emotional exchanges,and students have strong initiative.Based on this analysis,this paper puts forward some suggestions from two aspects: increasing the number of interactions and improving the quality of interactions.Teachers can increase the number of interactions by controlling the amount of teacher speech,increasing students’ target language output,carefully designing classroom questions,increasing the number of reference questions,enriching classroom interaction forms,increasing classroom interactive activities,and creating a relaxed and pleasant classroom atmosphere.Teachers can also improve the quality of interaction by paying attention to the dynamic distribution of teacher-student speech ratio,providing understandable input,paying attention to speaking speed,enriching feedback forms,paying attention to the effectiveness and communicative of classroom activities,fully preparing before class,and improving classroom efficiency.
