Bao Yuankai is a famous contemporary composer in China.Most of his works are based on the theme of traditional Chinese music.The most typical one is that Bao Yuankai ADAPTS and creates Chinese folk songs with harmony and orchstration in western composition techniques.Among them,the orchestral works of "Chinese Style" series have achieved the highest achievement and the greatest influence,which has been welcomed by professionals and audiences at home and abroad.As one of the representative works of this series,Taiwan Musical Paintings embodies the composer’s creative idea and original intention of "blending Chinese and Western,enjoying both refined and popular tastes" in both form and content.This paper takes "Taiwan Musical Painting" as the research object,and conducts a targeted study from the orchetic perspective of composition techniques.This paper analyzes the specific orchestration techniques of this work,the precise use of Musical Instruments and the westernized orchestration of ethnic and folk music.The body part consists of four chapters.The first chapter expounds Bao Yuankai’s life and creation concept from the perspective of history,and briefly describes the creation background and creation characteristics of this work,which provides favorable background information for the study of the orchery techniques of this work.The second chapter to the fourth chapter is the specific technical analysis of the work,which analyzes and interprets the means of the orchery of Taiwan Musical Painting respectively.The second chapter analyzes the musical instrument configuration and timbole resources corresponding to the work.The third and fourth chapters analyze the timbole and sound processing of the work from the vertical and horizontal perspectives,from the outside to the inside,from part to the whole,and from the micro to the macro.This paper focuses on the embodiment of the orchery technique in timbre and acoustics,that is,the texture form and timbre processing in the vertical structure,the timbre processing technique between different sound structures in the horizontal direction,and the structural function of the theme timbre from the macro perspective.The purpose of this paper is to find out the orgistration features of Bao Yuankai’s orchestral music creation and the unique musical vocabulary that he represents in telling Chinese stories with western instruments,and then to reflect on the significance of his individualized expression style rooted in national culture to contemporary music creation.
