| With the current educative reform,it is required to focus on the individual development and the independent character of students.People with quality of independent thinking are in great need in the development of our country.At present,most schools in our country have a common problem that the size of one class is too big to satisfy the need of students with different learning level in the class.Facing dozens of students of different learning level,teachers have no choice but to "satisfy the need of the majority " when teaching.According to the theory put forward by linguists,only when students’ original basics and level in cognition are fully taken into account and when teachers make appropriate objectives for different students can learning be most effective.Accordingly,in recent years,there have been many different kinds of new form of classes,like micro-class,flipped class,efficient class,hierarchical class teaching forms and so on.This paper will mainly discuss the practical use on the hierarchical shift system in senior high school English teaching.There are two main elements in the teaching of the hierarchical shift system:one is stratification,the other is shift system.Stratification means divide the students into different groups based on certain rules.Taking abilities,the learning level and the past performance of each student into consideration,students would be divided into two groups according to their past English scores.The level A corresponds to the students with better English scores,level B corresponds to students who are temporarily lagging behind others in English.After that,teachers can set different learning objectives,learning goals and difficult teaching points for different students,and teach using different ways.Compared with original teaching methods,the scale of the new teaching system will be larger,which can satisfy the need of most students.The shift class system is based on the original class system,and reconstitutes the students in a new class who have the same learning goal and level.That is,the learning ability of students in each class is generally the same.Teachers and teaching content would be same in the new classes,while changes exist in the flow of student groups.Students need to flow into different classes with the development of their learning ability and learning needs to effectively enhance the learning effect of students.In senior English teaching,the implementation of the teaching concept of the hierarchical shift system can effectively break through the current limitations of English teaching and enhance the effectiveness of students’ comprehensive learning.This paper will start from the practice of hierarchical teaching in our school to show the effect of hierarchical teaching.The thesis is divided into six parts: the first part is the introduction,which introduces background,significance and methods of this research.The second part would be the literature review,including the basic concept of hierarchical shift definition,domestic research status and foreign research status.Third,this paper will introduce the theoretical basis of the layered teaching,including philosophical basis,pedagogy basis,psychological basis.Fourth,this paper will introduce the layering class to the specific implementation of the program,and the specific implementation of the school.Fifthly,we will evaluate the effect from multi-dimension.Finally,the research findings and shortcomings of this paper are summarized.Recommendations for future are also included in this part.Through the analysis of students’ scores and questionnaires,the author found that after two semesters’ of English teaching,students have been improved in different dimensions of learning.What is clear is that students’ academic performance has improved.Secondly,through the questionnaire survey,it is found that students’ interest in learning has also been greatly improved.Layered classes not only enhance the learning interest of lagging behind students in English,but also the students with higher English level can get corresponding development.Both students in A and B have found their own learning skills and methods.At the same time,it is more convenient to set different teaching objectives for teachers in the teaching process to teach students in different levels.Teachers’ professional skills have also improved.In the mean time,the practice of carrying out "selective education" in the reform of college entrance examination was carried out. |
