The Study Of Inverse Mofrphemes Words In "San Yan Er Pai"

This thesis studies inverse morphemes words in vernacular novels in Ming Dynasty which are called “San Yan Er Pai”.Inverse morphemes words are those words that morphemes are the same but the order of morphemes is reversed.In regard to the same morphemes,We found 128 sets of inverse morphemes words in “San Yan Er Pai”,most of them are verbs and nouns.Among the 128 sets of inverse morphemes words,there are 79 sets totally the same in their meaning and usage,accounting for about 61.7%.There are 19 sets with the same usage and similar meanings,accounting for about 14.8%.Only 6 sets have the same meaning and similar usage.16 sets(12.5%)have similarities and differences in meaning and usage.Finally,there were 8 groups with different meanings and usages.We also made a diachronic statistics on the usage frequency of some inverse morphemes words in "San Yan Er Pai".We try to find out the changes and rules of the usage of these words in "San Yan Er Pai" or in the Ming Dynasty and probe into the causes.Furthermore,we have made statistics on the extinction of "San Yan Er Pai" about inverse morphemes words Specifically,46 sets are still used in modern Chinese,one type are used and the other type has disappeared that are 75 sets,only 7 sets disappeared in modern Chinese.And the reason of its extinction is studied in two cases.
