| Since modern times,the introduction of sketch from the west to China has made profound impact on the development of Chinese painting.It integrates with Chinese painting into the essence of China-Western artistic and cultural communication.As the collision and communication of Chinese art with western art keep broadening our horizons,nowadays,the artists engaged in Chinese painting have broken the tradtional creating way of Chinese painting,being more open-minded about art.Therefore,some artists present themselves in the process of contemporary Chinese painting.They have extensive studying on Chinese and western traditional forms of painting and keep innnovative thinking,finally deducing their own theories on painting.Bai Desong,with any doubt,is one of those artists.At this time when contemporary fine art keeps changing and Chinese figure painting thrives,Bar’s painting practice is of positive significance and academic value on the inheritance and innovation of Chinese painting.With Bai Desong as an entry point who engaged in Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and most close to the author,the analysis and research on his paintings will reflect Chinese painting’s status or problems in the development of contemporary art.The main content of this paper is to explore his experiences of creating and painting and analyze his painting theory.With his figure paintings of Wei-jin literati(Wei and Jin dynasties are from AD.220 to AD.420)as research object,this paper analyzes Bai’s unigue painting theory systems which fuse traditional essence into modern drawing.What’s more,linguistic symbols in the essence of painting will be studied in this paper to explore the unique features of Bar’s art conception and paintings which are never researched so as to demonstrate the value of Bai Desong and his art on Chinese painting.The first section of the third chapter lists several periods of Bai Desong’s paintings,whose ink painting of figure in cloth is the focus of this study.’Wei-jin Intellectuals",a series of narrative works of great scenes,differ from both realistic Chinnese painting established by "Xu Beihong-Jiang Zhaohe System" and the New Literati Painting.It creates a new path of revolution and innovation for Chinese painting,endowed with traditional painting language.The second section discuss the aesthetics of his figure paintings.Elaborate drawing and free sketch are combined in his paintings when portraying images.What’s more line drawing with techniques of "Twists and turns" and ink dying in the whole picture gives those paintings an magnificent view like an epic.The fourth chapter introduce Bai Desong’s artistic ideas of painting return to the root of Chinese tradtional culture.Bai has open and free thoughts of creating,which is the result of extensive studying and consistent accumulation.The fifth chapter mainly studies the influence of Bai Desong’s art on figure paintings creating in the regions of Sichuan and Chongqing.Taking Huang Shan,Zha Ming,Feng Bin,Li Qingke,Zhang Zheng and Shui Guanjian as examples,the demonstration and impact of their view of teaching and artistic creation are expressed in this chapter. |
