With the development of information technology and the arrival of “micro” era,new teaching forms such as “micro-class”,“micro-video” and so on quietly emerge.Micro-video is favored and valued by teachers because of its short video time,rich content and visual features.This also provides a new opportunity for the reform of college English reading teaching methods.Applying teaching micro-video to college English reading teaching can not only make up for the deficiency of traditional mode,improve teaching efficiency,but also broaden students’ learning channels and enrich students’ learning methods.However,how can we ensure the quality of teaching micro-video,so that teaching micro-video can better serve college English reading teaching? It is closely related to the development of research on teaching micro-video design for college English reading.Therefore,the purpose of this study is to construct a design model of teaching micro-video,in order to promote the development of research on teaching micro-video design and the improvement of college English reading teaching.This study can provide teachers with guidance and reference as to how to design and make teaching micro-video for college English reading.This study focuses on the design of teaching micro-video for college English reading and takes teaching micro-video for college English reading as the research object.The aim is to answer the following three research questions: First,how can we construct the teaching micro-video design model of college English reading based on the design elements? Second,how can we design and make the case of teaching micro-video of college English reading based on the design model? Third,what is the application effect of the teaching micro-video design case of college English reading based on the design model?Based on the above research questions,the author summarizes the three main design elements:resource design,teaching design and media design through the practice and literature reading.In the aspect of resource design,four principles of comprehensibility,interest,relevance and science are put forward under the guidance of Input Hypothesis;In the aspect of teaching design,under the guidance of Constructivism Theory,it is put forward that the teaching design should be student-centered,pay attention to the creation of situation and attach importance to the application of various information resources.In the aspect of media design,under the guidance of Multimedia Art Theory,in the design of media,we should follow the three basic rules of prominent subject(or theme),media matching and orderly change,and the four rules of color application,background application,text application and interpretation application.The three basic class rules and the four screen rendering class rules contain 32 specific application strategies.In addition,this study analyzes the production technology of teaching micro-video.On this basis,the design cases of teaching micro-video for college English reading are designed and made.Finally,the three specific design cases are applied to the concrete practice,and the feedbacks of teachers and students on the design cases are collected by questionnaire method and interview method.Through data statistics and analysis,it can be concluded that teachers and students are satisfied with the overall design effect of college English reading teaching micro-video based on the design model of this study.The design model has certain guiding significance for the design of college English reading teaching micro-video.However,there are still some details that need to be modified and perfected in the design cases.Through the above analysis,this thesis comes up with the following seven enlightenments to the micro video design model of college English reading teaching:First,the teaching micro-video should be interesting in content and complete in structure,and interwine the amusing with the educational.Second,teaching micro-video design should give full play to subjective initiative to create high-quality teaching micro-video “products”.Third,in the aspect of teaching resources design,we should follow the principle of comprehensibility,fun,relevance and science,and pay attention to the richness of teaching resources,so as to optimize the learning effect.Fourth,the media design process should be scientific use of switching effect,leaving thinking time for students.Fifth,teaching micro-video design should pay attention to the teacher’s image,improve he teacher’s influence,and give full play to the teacher’s roles in student’s learning.Sixth,we should pay attention to the importance of selecting topics and reasonably screen the teaching contents in the design of teaching micro-video.Seventh,we should be careful when citing resources and ensure that the citation of resources is correct and there is no infringement.In terms of theoretical value,first of all,this thesis provides a new idea for the design of teaching micro-video for college English reading,and it is innovative in the perspective of research.Secondly,it enriches the research results of teaching micro-video design.In terms of practical value,it provides a new way for students to learn English reading,useful guidance for teachers to design teaching micro-video,and valuable reference for the development of auxiliary materials for college English teaching materials.
