| The Brief Resilience Scale(BRS)is widely used in foreign countries. In this study, teenagers were selected as subjects to explore the applicability of BRS in Chinese cultural context. This study mainly includes three parts: Study 1:the revision of Brief Resilience Scale(BRS).A total of 1800 adolescents were tested using translated BRS and analyzed using CTT and Rasch models. The results showed that item analysis,Factor Analysis(FA),Parallel Analysis(PA),Minimum Average Partial Correlation(MAPC)and Rasch analysis all supported the original one-dimensional structure of the questionnaire, and the revised BRS had good reliability and validity, which could effectively measure the level of resilience of adolescents in China. Some researchers have pointed out that the structural instability of BRS is influenced by both positive and negative representations, and there are method effects. Therefore,on the basis of previous studies, this study used the analytical methods of CTCM,CTCU and the Full-information Item Bifactor Analysis(FIIBFA)to test.A total of 1588 adolescents were tested using BRS and analyzed using M-plus and POLYBIF programs. The results show that BRS is essentially a single factor structure scale, which has poor performance in the competitive model Model8 without convergence.BRS does not support the structure of method factors in the analysis of the FIIBFA,and BRS does not have method effect. Most of the previous researches on BRS only focus on the horizontal data results, and no longitudinal studies on the measurement equivalence of BRS have been carried out.The research on equivalence is of great significance, however,no domestic scholars have conducted similar research on BRS.Study3 used BRS to conduct a follow-up survey of 1600 adolescents, with a time interval of 6 months.A total of 3 batches of longitudinal data were collected, and there was no structural loss.Transgender,cross-origin,and longitudinal equivalence studies were conducted using M-plus.The results showed that the CFA analysis results of multiple groups showed that the BRS single-factor model was acceptable for four models of cross-gender,different student origin and longitudinal equivalence, namely morphological equivalence, weak equivalence, strong equivalence and error variance equivalence.A series of parameter restrictions did not significantly reduce the model fitting value, and cross-group comparison and longitudinal analysis could be conducted. This study drew the following conclusions: 1.BRS has good psychometric properties in Chinese adolescents, and it is appropriate to use it as an assessment tool for mental toughness in future studies.2.BRS is a single factor structure with no method effect.3.BRS has the equivalence of measurement of cross-gender and different places of origin.4.BRS has longitudinal equivalence across time. |
